  1. I saw some this weekend at a gun show, only 1 vendor had them and he wanted $120 a pop. Wasn't bad and I almost payed it to be the first kid on the block that I know that has one but then I thought 2 30 round Pmags = approx $30 and ya 4 seconds more but I just couldn't justify the price, still I'd like to add at least 1 to the collection eventually also
  2. What kind of ammo, what kind of mag and which rounds? The first, middle, last rounds? 12 round mags have been known not to have a strong enough spring and can sometimes cause this in the last few rounds
  3. here is a close up of it, it looks just like rivets, same size and curve +1 The nylon plugs that are commonly found at Lowes are strikingly similar to the factory rivets. The diameter and radius are very close. Is a specific size or brand of plug to look for? I'd like to get some, don't wanna go and there be a plethora of plug sizes and options. Thanks I think CSS has some that are really close too. There isn't a huge selction of them at Lowes, so it should be fairly obvious which ones you need. Thank you LOWES has it, at least here in NE ohio, it's 3/1

  5. Sorry, I assumed that you would understand checking to see if the gas block needs to be aligned or any gas ports opened/added before it was actually done was a given. I'm sure these guys don't do any extra work they don't have to. And I put that at the top of the list because no matter how much function and reliability or polishing services are done to the shotgun, if the gas block is misaligned or the ports are obstructed/missing, then the shotgun more than likely still isn't going to perform correctly.
  6. For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would spend money for a job that doesn't include the important things. S'ok if all you want is cosmetic work so you can have a pretty gun. I want more than that for my money, much, much more. fataleffekt, If you're spending $900 on a new, untouched S12, you're getting hosed. To me first and foremost the most important part is aligning the gas block and opening up or adding gas ports as needed and I already mentioned that they did that. Next in importance to me was conversion, they did that too. I'm the kind of guy who prefers to try
  7. PDQ might not do any reliability or polishing service to make the shotgun run better but they also don't do anything to it to make it run any worse. They do definitely align the gas block and open up/add the gas ports if needed, which would only improve the shotgun's performance if done so it isn't like the shotgun is a piece of crap because PDQ converted it, it is a piece of crap because it probably came like that from the factory. They aren't experts or known for their superior craftsmanship but they also aren't as expensive nor no where near as long as the wait as someone who is. There
  8. Shooting Times has a pic of the prototype SSAK47 and also show some new variants to that old ugly SSAR version they have in the 3rd video. I guess it is a race to see who gets theirs out first
  9. Thanks for the offer Corbin you rock but I got the same deal from another member on here also and already sent him the funds. This place is great and the members are greater, thanks again and to everyone who responded too
  10. Just like the title says, where can I get a factory saiga gas plug? I know there may be better options out there but I just want a factory one, I'm a sucker for original parts and after I sent my S12 off for conversion I never got my factory one back with it. Thanks
  11. PDQ Inc. in CC. I have a S12 they converted and it is GTG. I don't believe they do any function or reliability service so it still needs to be broken in when you get it but to me they do a more than satisfactory job on the conversion. I can't remember everything they do but I know they align the gas block for sure which is important to me. Post #777 here in the picture thread isn't mine but looks almost exactly like mine and was converted by PDQ. Google search for them making sure to include "PDQ" and "Corpus Christi" and talk to them. I see them at the SAXET shows all the time and despite hea
  12. The front latch that comes with that set will not work on a Saiga 12. You need to either find a factory S12 latch set or buy one from AK-Builder.com. The AK-Builder S12 latch is almost identical to the factory set and it's readily available for $55.00. I have a couple of extra AK-Builder latch sets sitting here for future projects. I never realized that, thanks for the heads up
  13. http://www.k-var.com/shop/mobile.php?cat=283&productid=17665 This comes with all the necessary hardware including the front catch http://www.k-var.com...productid=17716
  14. I have one and love it. Use it on a AR and it works exactly as advertised. As soon as one is available for the AK I will buy that one too. One on an S12 would be badass
  15. I'd gladly pay $2 extra, i can't seem to find them in either 10 or 25 count at any of my local wal-marts
