  1. When I get bored at work, I read the warrants on some of the inmates charged with more serious crimes. One of them specifically listed the gun used in an attempted murder as an "Izhevsk assault rifle". I was kinda surprised to see it, for whatever reason. I guess I would have assumed thugs went for WASR's, lol. Anyway, I'm not even a little bit surprised to see something like that happen in Philly in broad daylight. My ex lives there, and I've told her numerous times "You're crazy not to get a concealed permit and carry whenever possible". I'd rather walk through a field of lions, wit
  2. Iraqveteran8888 has a good video on this. Some of the machining they did left burrs on these guns. His process involves a 20 gauge brass brush, a drill and some polishing compound. I have had trouble with wolf (steel cased)f ammo not ejecting, but the surplus ejects easily. Either way for <20 cents/round your shoulder will quit before your wallet will. Fun as hell to shoot. Also they make a rubber butt stock extender for about 5 dollars (on ebay). I don't recommend buying it to lessen kick (the rubber is too hard), but it adds just enough length to make the stock more comfortable.
  3. To beat a dead horse, shipping in the 54r is my vote. New Idea? Pistol version like the draco.
  4. Thanks for the reply. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me (NOTE: it has to make sense to be right....). I would think they would want them to fit a standard AK magazine ( in the same way that saiga's come in with a full sized mag well i believe). As I am not an expert on the rifle any explanation is appreciated.
  5. There are rumors out there that the newer WASR's don't have the same problems as the ones that were modified during the Ban. I assume this was due to the fact the 10 rd magazine limitation was no longer in effect and the magazine well did not have to be recut. Anyone know when the "newer" rifles were produced?
  6. I haven't bought ammo online before, what do you mean no signature required? is that for receipt when fedex/ups drops it off? Also when you mean hotter are you referring to the higher barrel pressure? ~Jarrett
  7. Ar you kidding me? One of each is all I can handle, I must be getting old. ( i better watch what i post regardless, guns don't kill people, jealous wives do)

are sights really required? hahaha awesome looking little devil.
  9. ya sorry guys, just found a post. So my ultimak rail from my ak74 should fit fine on a saiga 223 right? anything else I should look out for or avoid with 223 saigas? Yeah avoid not getting to the range like 3 times a week to unload a smile with every pull of the trigger...lol Also, don't let your wife/girlfriend get a hold of it, cause you will never get it back. (see "why didn't i get a saiga earlier thread") Now I've got to get a second one.
  10. My piece is a Glock 23. My other sidearm is the XDM. Can't decide which one I like better.
  11. Unconverted Saiga. Not willing to do it myself. Anyone in the Norfolk area willing to convert for a six pack (i'll buy parts of course)? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c6leL9j7ZE
  12. Man I trust very few ammunition manufactuers. I highly recommend Federal or any Georgia Arms remanufactured ammo. Both have worked well for me. Winchester (white box) and Remington (green and white box) are cheap, but make very poor quality ammunition. I have had problems with both. At first I thought it was my weapon, but I have been flawless on over 400 rounds on FED/GA since. Federal is moderately priced, but I would get a can of remanufactured Georgia Arms ammo which is the best for the price. Using poor quality ammuntion scares the living begeezus out of me since I've seen some of
  13. Yeah I've got a Gen 3 G23 with about 400 rounds. I had a couple of stovepipes but that was due to crappy ammo. Never again will I buy green/white box remington. Total crap. I bought the saiga for the same reason as the G23, durability/reliability under any circumstance. <BR> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX7BYn8G8rA
