  1. I wasn't very clear in my first post - I was in Texas on a business trip and the wife was home alone (with our Rottweiler) in Illinois where we live. I definitely learned my lesson about going super cheap on a job like this. Also about having friends wait for him at my house... no need.. he's probably 145 lbs skinny twirp and I could manhandle him easily, but that's not the point. I could kick the sh*t out of him but that wouldn't solve my problem.. he'd more likely just valdalize my house or call the police on me and then I'm the bad guy haha. If I hear from him again I will get
  2. I had a contractor from craigslist (bad idea) remove a shower liner and add tiles instead. He gave me a sob story the day before he was finished about how he needed the cash that day, so I finally gave in and stupidly gave him the cash. The next day he of course didn't show up, and I noticed he took all of his tools home as well, so after a phone call and yelling at him he finally agreed to come finish the work. Anyways he came back and spent 20 minutes caulking and doing very poor finishes and then disapeared never to return. His work was crappy, but at least his price was really cheap.
  3. This was mentioned in another thread, so I figured to continue the conversation I'd start a thread on its own as to not hijack the other thread. What's a good .22lr with high capacity and good reliability? Someone mentioned Calico Arms .22LR rilfe/pistol with 100 rd magazine.. are these reliable? Anyone have experience with these? What other .22lr rifile/handguns have high capacity and are generally reliable? Looking for a good Zombie gun
  4. So are these legal in IL? Also are there different shells that can be put in these besides flares? Pretty cool idea IMO.. Do they connect right to a rail?
  5. Are these legal everywhere since it's technically a "flare launcher"?? I assume not, but worth asking I guess
  6. Well I guess you've backed me into a corner on that one.. lol Muslim is a religion not a race, I agree. It's discrimination.
  7. Guys have you forgot THIS IS STILL AMERICA and he can do what the F*** he wants!! "A bad precedent" seriously? If the next guy wont sell to a christian or atheist then they go to the OTHER guy who will. Thats how its suppose to work in a free market. I dont care if he's a black guy and wont sell to me b/c I'm white, I might not agree with it but I support his right as an AMERICAN to do that!! When your in a privately owned gun store you play by their rules just the same. As far as the catholic school goes, those students need to take there business elsewhere as well and not try to force an
  8. Race, gender, age, RELIGION are all protected classes. You can kick someone out of your store and refuse business to anyone you want for being a jerk.. but if only black people or only muslims are getting this treatment then you are discriminating.. When you post a sign or announce that muslims aren't allowed you're asking for trouble.
  9. I'm with Rob Rez.. The laws are very clear and they're there for a reason. This is a gun forum so you're going to get a lot of extreme opinions and some racism, but I would like to think that the gross majority understand that you're not a "pansy" if you disagree with segregation and discrimination against certain races or religions. Most of the comments like the dogs/fleas analogy is just racist propaganda. I'm very conservative, but racism doesn't have to go along w/ that... What if I owned a bank and put up a sign "whites only"?? It's ignorant to think "it's a free country" allows you t
  10. I'm sorry I misread before posting. Someone else can take the 20 round magazine...
  11. I would take the 20 round mag if it's still available. Please let me know.
  12. Nope. The Texas State CHL instructor certification that entitles him to teach students in order to get their state-issued CHL is not a matter of his personal business. The whole reason for his having that state-issued certification, and likely the only reason people take his classes, is so that he will act as a state-approved intermediary for people applying to the state to get a concealed handgun license. When he is using his State-issued instructor's certificate he is supposed to be teaching under the auspices of the State of Texas, and meeting their standards. He had a choice when he
  13. I'll be the guinea pig I guess.. I'm putting in an order for $113 + $70 shipping. I'll let you know in 3-4 weeks if it arrives. I wonder if I can get him to throw in a bottle of Russian Vodka for the same price on shipping

  15. I'm with mizombiekilla here.. This sets a bad precedent. I'm not sure how anyone can agree w/ this... and I'm not muslim or liberal!
  16. I just have a budget for my hobby. I dont spend over the budget, and she doesn't say anything about whatever I decide to spend that money on. It works out for both of us!
  17. Have you heard of Geo caching? Wiki it.. In short people all over the world hide little boxes and record the location of them on www.geocaching.com where other people can view the coordinates of what you hid, and go search for it using their GPS. Sounds dumb by my description but it's kinda fun. Anyways, to 'get' someone I've put the coordinates of their backyard on there and described it as "well-hidden". People were showing up all day long and walking into his backyard looking for a geocache. For about 2 weeks he had people going back there until finally someone took the posting down.
  18. Kill them with kindness.. J/k nobody wants to hear that in your situation. Why not take them to court? Is it enough money to justify the work/money involved with taking him to court? It's a PITA to take someone to small claims court, but it's also a pita to be taken to small claims court .. so I say do it if they owe you enough money. Not sure what other suggestions you're looking for.. Sugar in the gas tank? lol
  19. I was taking a jog at night in my neighborhood the other night and came through a dark park. I saw a man and a woman fighting so I turned down my headphones as I jogged by since it looked so intense. I heard the woman say "Never put your hands on my daughter - you're not welcome back" and then he grabbed her arm as she was walking away. I surprised both of them since it was so dark and I was running pretty fast. After passing them I jogged another 20 yards and then decided I'd regret not stopping and at least checking if everything is alright. I asked her if everything was ok. He waved m
  20. That's funny that they were 25' from the street when they were rescued. With only 7 acres I would think you would be able to just walk any direction and make your way out.
  21. Above I said "similar to the quad rail" I meant similar to the Titan Rail.
  22. I'm considering an AK for my next gun, but can't decide between an AK or AR. I know there are countless comparison discussions all over the web, and I generally know the differences between the two. My only other firearm right now is a Saiga 12 which I'm pretty much done modifying for now. It runs great and looks exactly like I want it to. Anyways I like the tactical look of AR's and the fact that they're so accurrate, but I like the dependability of an AK. Does anyone have pictures of an AK 7.62x39 with an extended quad rail, or something similar to the quad rail? I looked through tons
  23. +1 for the dog.. I can't picture my life without a dog in it. Obviously they're another responsibility but the reward of coming home to a loyal dog that wants nothing more than your attention beats any other material item listed above. H&B come in a very close second.
