  1. macs arent exactly rare and i havent seen them go up in value in a long time. i look in a gun rack and think "thats the one i would grab", so I dont really need the rest. A SMG would not be my first choice.
  2. one big downside is that you need to get paperwork approved if your moving out of state. Then some states dont allow certain NFA weapons, so you may have to sell and transfer a gun if you need to move.
  3. it could have been done with lighter materials. sure the thompson is heavy but modern .45 SMG's like UMP or Kriss super v are 6lb guns. The M4 rifles we use now are 6lbs. Plenty of room for the addition of a light weight shotgun.
  4. no it was a working thompson and SPAS shotgun. The movie prop was a proof of concept that could have been a full production gun.
  5. If the ball bearing is lighter than the lead shot it's fine. Just use it in a birdshot wad so it dosent contact the bore. Question, How do you shoot out a shotgun barrel? You can backbore them from .72 to .84 your probably talking about the choke, just dont use one when firing it. They do make steel shot rated screw in chokes, which can take it and are easy to replace. My grandpa use to carry arround a ball bearing while bird hunting because you couldent have slugs or buckshot. They would drop the ball down the barrel on top of the standard birdshot load and fire it at larger game. I d
  6. Why this dident go into full production is beyond me. All it needed was a smaller magwell or upgrade to a 5.56mm carbine. Not mine
  7. I say kill them, use more than enough gun and ammo. If you live through the situation worry about litigation later. They will most likely argue that you accidentally shot them with your sliding stock, and sue you. The same crap lawyers do with light triggers.
  8. remember in most states you can have sex with a kid 16+ but if you have a nude photo its child porno and your a sex offender. laws need revision first and should be standard for all 50 states.
  9. If you dont plan on shooting low brass birdshot, you can cut the barrel shorter than 12in but it'll only run highbrass.
  10. lol nope it was in the movie showtime, that must have been after showtime came out back in 2002. I believe these guns cost $250 back then, i had a valtro PM5 until these came out. I wonder if the folding barrel on the longer gun is possible. I'd like to think it could be done.
  11. some cheap shells i've seen the primer isent the same depth and the firing pin dosent make as deep of a dent on some. The cheap shells i was shooting were Federal tactical door breaching ammo. you can pick those up for $2 a box, cheap for DB rounds.
  12. Im drooling over this one Mark krebs did, wow. The M203 barrel is a nice touch. I just dont like the disassembly of the gun. The gun needs 922R compliance and bigger mags. Sure it can reload faster, but the saiga has 2 times as much ammo on tap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzh1HxRxp80&feature=related
  13. If it would come from Tromix with a lengthened forcing cone and backbored it'd be perfect. The saigas tight under .72 dia bore aint the best for patterns. I wish the thing had come out in an AR10 receiver, or conversion kit, Then it would be a lot easyer to work on.
  14. The ATF dosent trust anyone in your arms room, the militarys guns arent registered in the NFRTR they are sold directly to the DOD. They are exempt from all regulation. Your options are limited. Do some paperwork, get partial BAH, and live off post. You'll have to pay part of your living expences assuming your single. You'll have to figure out what to do with them if you deploy. You'll probably have to lock them in the arms room while deployed or get approval for permanent change of address. Or: Keep your home of record, keep that state residency, pay that states taxes, and you can
  15. Trunion or receiver? There are some marked on one, some marked on the other. Maybe it's a better option to just mark the barrel?
  16. You dont need breaching muzzle breaks, they add length to the gun for no reason. I shoot TAP or flight control buckshot so no need for a choke. The 11.5 or 12in is a better option because you have more space for a taclight. The pressure of the 8in will blow the fingers off the back of flight control type wads, the 11.5 wont. You'll only lose 100fps going to 12in from an 18in barrel. You dont really need the side folding stock because you cant sling it folded and have to fire from the hip with only a pistolgrip. my 11.5 and 8in
  17. Just an FYI for new guys. An out of state sale is $400 in taxes. It has to form4 to a dealer then form4 to the individual. Make sure you want it, a lot of the lower value items may not be worth selling.
  18. ya, the forms are free, you dont even pay shipping. I guess thats included in the tax we pay.
  19. I'd think twice before mailing them a md20 you'll be in violation of ITAR. I believe you can only legaly buy one mag per shipment because the value has to be under $100 without an import permit. That or he breaks them up into seperate parts shipments under $100 value also. ITAR violations have big penaltys.
  20. or you could just buy a FN 5.7 handgun... It'll penitrate anything these "AP" handgun bullets will, costs less, is more readily avalible, and isent a gray area with the law.
  21. it needs new mags so im not impressed, youll have to buy the russian LRBHO mags for it. Any aftermarket LRBHO will still sell.
  22. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/64562-chaos-mini-titan-for-8-sbs/ Kross makes one also but I dont think they are currently making them. I wanted a longer handguard so I cut down/milled a full length chaos rail.
  23. wow..... The study was defining what is and isent a "sporting purpose" (Shotgun) and what is and isent "Suitable for sporting purposes" (shotgun) It was made and posted by the ATF because there wasent a shotgun study. A gun has to be suitable for sporting purposes to be imported. The study dosent, hasent, and wont effect the importation of the saiga. It is imported in the "sporting" configuration with no pistol grip and 5rd magazine. In that configuration it is suitable for sporting purposes as defined by the study and approved for import. The current supply problems are the result
