  5. Position is ok if you do not use a slide on QR sight mount. It would be in the way if you did.

  10. Just got done with the third Saiga conversion using the home made fore end. Attached are the pics. Going to replace under folder with nato length stock. or side folder nato length. Oh surprising thing this one came with 4 hole port ( and they where aligned up already, and factory LRBHO on it.
  11. Thanks for all the information, there is about 1/8" air space all the way around, only contact point is under barrel at front turion and mounting screw at gas block, was going to rubberize it for grip purpose. Working around my completed Saiga's have another one coming in for new mods I've been working on for it. Really hoping I get a response form MOJO at red jacket for a bullpup fast prototype (like the 22 one he did) but for my 3rd saiga 12. Otherwise I want to make my own furniture for it after converting. Will post pics as I get it figured out some more. Layback
  12. Alu. handrail, put in a lathe took off enough to lighten it up, then bridgeport mill and slab the sides. Then milled out channel for barrel. Milled the tab for in the slot of the lower below the chamber. Angle slotted the front to act as a spear, but too short may make a longer version. May put a coat of rubberized spray on it for better grip and use in cool weather. Never seen the mag light one. layback
  13. Here is a few pictures of new home designed fore end. Alu. lightweight, Slab sides for rails to be attached if desired. thoughts?
  14. Hello, I have the performance kit with the spring installed since i did my conversion 410 underfolder. Been shooting everything on setting of 5 md v plug with no problems. Was going to turn down a bit but never did. layback
  15. Hi, I have HK sights on my Sks and Saiga 410 always liked them from when I used them for the first time on a HK 91. Never tried the others, but there has been more advancements in sights over the last couple years with all the rails on guns lately. Been thinking of sights for my Saiga 12 for a while still unsure what to put on it. Shotguns are to be quick and fast shooting thinking of a high visible fiber optic HK sight above the gas block and V HK style rear. Still thinking on this matter too many choices out there now days.
  16. Thanks, that is the info I was hoping would be out there how low to go, disconnector . Thanks Caged. Yes Mullet man that is what I was asking. If things don't work out will just get another group. Thanks everyone.
  17. Hello, after searching around and not finding anything on it so here goes. With all the polishing of the bolt and hammer going on, wonder if anyone looked at shorting the trigger hook to hold the hammer lower thus keeping the bolt from making contact with the hammer during cycling. Understand some of teh bolt material removal is for keeping the top round in made from being deformed and makes loading the rock and lock mags easier. Just figure throw this out and see if it has been done before... Thanks, Layback
  18. Question one: Ordered under folder kits, and all 922r parts required to make compliant plus extras just in case. Once under folder kit arrived milled out old rivets from rear trunion. Photo copied each side of trunion actual size. cut out copies and taped with top original rivet hole aligned with copy.Center punched hole from copy to receiver. Drill hole small first them to size with step bit for large hole actual size for rivets. Used new rivet kit, and home made air rivet tool from a air chisel i had. Silver solder all extra holes closed Assembled, all parts and test fire all ok, ref
  19. The under folders came from centerfire ***used parts $49 each set, the mounting block was on *bay $29 for on the 12ga. Seller started it wouldn't work on 12 ga. but a little fitting for safety and it was a done deal. Unsure about posting where (don't think they are business listed on forum) but do searches with names and device, the block was under ak47. Mods if not right please delete still making it thru all the guilds.
  20. Upgraded the 12 ga to under folder with a mounting block instead of going thru the receiver add length to make up for Nato. Really adds to the smile factor.
