  1. I saw this headline on the Washington Post and my first thought was: Holy SHIT! He was almost out of ammo!
  2. If you want to know where all the ammo went, you don't need to look any further than Gunbroker.com or your local gun show. It's all there, and at only a modest (at least double) markup.
  3. I never thought my Taurus Judge would be my go to weapon but right now 45LC and .410 is about the only ammo I can find that isn't stupidly priced if available at all. At least I don't have to resort to my 1851 Colt Navy yet...

  5. It does seem to me that (1)(a) makes this entirely about carrying a pistol concealed. However you make a valid point that if you're carrying openly and then get in your vehicle, you're now concealing by the definition of the law. You could get in to trouble also if your shirt, or jacket, or scarf, or whatever, happened to inadvertently drape over the gun and thereby partially or completely conceal it. Therefore even if you're going to open carry, it would be advisable to have a CPL so that as your gun "transitions" from open to concealed throughout the day you aren't in violation. We shoul
  6. P.S. to what I said about open carry in WA. While you do not require a CPL to open carry in WA (the C stands for "concealed" after all) it's still not a bad idea to have it if you're going to carry at all. You can get yourself in trouble if you have your gun in a holster on your belt and then throw your jacket on over it because you just went from open to concealed carry.
  7. That is actually an incorrect statement. WA allows for open carry. I was a little confused about this one too because there are some weird laws about "brandishing" or some such nonsense, but I asked my county Sheriff (not a deputy, the actual Sheriff) about this and he said we absolutely have the right to open carry in WA. That he and his deputies would never harass someone who was open carrying unless they thought they were up to no good for some other reason. And I am on the western side of the mountains so it's not like this isn't a fairly "liberal" area (still trying to figure out when
  8. I was really tempted to go down and try and buy some guns, but I figured the cops would politely insist that I go away. Since they didn't do that, I might give it a go the next time they do it.
  9. Only you're within 25 ft of them. Well I'm comfortable with them at my range as long as I don't shoot birdshot at them within 25 ft. Learned that one the hard way...lol! You mean kinda sorta like the guy was in the video? (granted he wasn't aiming at them, but with the recoil of slide fire I could see him hitting one)
  10. So does anyone else think it's a bad idea to have rubber tires in the target area of your range?
  11. The pistol grip on mine is a separate piece, so maybe I can re-use it. I can't remember what brand it is off the top of my head.
  12. Thanks for the advice guys. One of the reasons I didn't want to move the trigger is because I already bought a stock with the built in pistol grip. Did that before I found out about all this 922r stuff. I think for now I'll just do the stock, grip, puck, muzzle attachement fix. Then some day I'll move the trigger when I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of the stock I bought.
  13. I'm actually tempted to just put the factory stock back on it and not bother messing with it.
  14. Ok, I'm getting a 922® headache. I've done a bunch of forum searches and checked out several other web sites and I'm worse off now than I was when I started. So I apologize if this seems like a repeat question, but I haven't been able to piece together a good answer. It sounds to me like the only way to really be compliant would include replacing the FCG but every option I can find for that seems to include moving the trigger forward. I'm not really interested in doing this, because it involves more work than I really want to do? Isn't there a US made FCG that can just be dropped in as
  15. Ok, another update on this. I gave the gun a good cleaning and took it back out to the range. It's definitely performing MUCH better without the rail. However, while cleaning it I discovered another issue. The spring that slides in to the carrier seems to be catching or jamming. So the rear one compresses completely but the front one is not. That's preventing the carrier and bolt from going all the way back on every shot. I think this might actually be my primary issue. I saw on another thread that someone had this issue and polished the opening on the carrier to that spring goes to st
  16. I agree. I didn't think it had anything to do with clamping the gun too tightly. However, I can say it definitely had an effect on my gun. After removing it, I was still having FTE problems with cheapo walmart ammo (I think one out of 20 rounds actually ejected properly). But then I ran 20 rounds of buckshot through it that mostly cycled properly (2 or 3 stovepipes) and 10 slugs that also mostly cycled right (2 stove pipes). Then I put another 5 rounds of the cheapo ammo through it and 3 out of the 5 ejected properly. The FTEs I was getting today might be due to the fact that I didn't
  17. Did it work with the entire thing installed minues the top rail? (in other words with the top part of the frame installed, but not the rail itself)
  18. I just bought my Saiga a couple weeks ago. It worked perfectly fine stock out of the box. Then I ordered all the goodies, including the quad rail (mine says it's a UAG, but it's exactly the same thing as the UTG everyone is having problems with). I had the exact same issue. I wish I had read this forum before I bought it, I would have bought a different one. I don't think it's an issue with it clamping down on the gun though, because everything still moves freely. The puck will slide back and forth if you tip the gun forward and back. So it doesn't seem to be binding. It just didn'
