  1. I did this to my gun a little while ago but only very recently got to go out and shoot it. I was also very happy with the recoil reduction. Although I'm not sure if the rise reduction was from decreased recoil, or added weight on the front of the gun. Looks cool anyway.
  2. Or we need more of this to happen: http://www.kirotv.com/news/news/bellingham-man-wins-15000-settlement-after-city-co/nZPdj/ Happened in my home town. WA is a very liberal state (well, the West side of it is anyway) and Bellingham is where all the hippies went after the 60s...
  3. You think that's bad? They make a 10 round version of the drum for the Tommy Gun. When I first saw info on it, I thought it was a joke. But it's real... http://www.auto-ordnance.com/Long-Gun-Magazines/Thompson-T12BKT-10-Round-Drum-Magazine.asp
  4. what would really be impressive is if someone could find a 9mm glock model somewhere for under 600. i've been looking for a year I just bought one (used mind you) for $450. I think I lucked out though I've been watching them for about a year on Gunbroker. Then stumbled across one at a local pawn shop when they posted it on their facebook page. I replied and told them I would be there in 5 minutes. Then I picked up 2 50rd drums on Gunbroker for $69 each ($74 with shipping). I bet that guy was pissed, I was the only one that bid on them for some reason. He had four and someone ou
  5. My favorite quote from that book, sums up what many Americans seem to have forgotten: "Everyone must leave something behind when he dies, my grandfather said. A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you’re there. It doesn’t matter what you do, he said, so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that’s like you after you take your hand
  6. How the hell do people this stupid manage to cross the street without getting run over?
  7. You're going to see a lot more of that as technology makes it easier for people to get all that stuff for free. I haven't had cable or sat in about 2 years and don't miss it. I can still see everything I want to, and I don't miss the 400 channels of crap that I had to pay for to get the 10 I watched. They're eventually going to have to go back to making their money off the advertising like it used to work at the dawn of TV.
  8. Ah... Well, I can definitely understand the bad rep it got due to the issue they were having and the frustration I had with it when I first got it. But it was an easily fixable problem and they didn't give me any hassle getting the part. So I tend to defend it when I hear bad things because I know when the issue is solved it is a very dependable and easy to carry weapon.
  9. I carry one of these because it fits in my pocket and you can't really tell it's there. I did have an issue with it when I first got it in that it wouldn't extract properly (which is probably the "shoot one bullet" you are referring to). I did a little research and it turns out they made a batch of these with bad extractors. I called Kel-Tech, told them I had a problem with extraction and they just asked for my address and mailed me a new extractor and spring. They didn't ask me any other questions, so obviously it's a known issue. And it was an easy fix. I haven't had a single issue wit
  10. You know, the lady who reported him may have over-reacted, but it seems to me it was the Texas police that really blew things out of proportion.
  11. I'm having a monster break put on my gun and hope to have it back by this weekend to try it out. I'm having the barrel cut though because they showed me one with the full length barrel compared to one that was cut, and the full length one just made the gun too long. That means I have to have the break pinned but that's OK because I don't see a need to switch things out. I'll let you know what my impressions are as to how much difference it makes.
  12. Hell, my wife doesn't even know what all I own... or how much I paid for them...
  13. I still think I would prefer a sub2k. Assuming the price ever comes back down to something reasonable.
  14. Do the Just Right Carbines use Glock Magazines like the Kel Tec Sub 2k? I'm just wondering if you could use the 50 and 100 round Glock drums with these like you can the Sub 2k?
  15. Heck....I cracked out the old 2600 last night. Combat! is still one of the best all time games in my opinion.
  16. I see this thing being a massive failure. Anyone remember Divx that was supposed to replace DVD? I thought not... Hell, even the dumb asses that came up with the idea don't exist any more (Circuit City).
  17. This about sums up the whole next gen of consoles: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/7417-Next-Gen-Buyers-Guide
  18. The Kinect bugs me. I don't have one for my 360 and don't intend to ever buy one. Kinect combined with the always on thing concerns me. It's a little too reminiscent of 1984. I don't even like having a laptop with a built in camera and mic because it's possible for someone to access your system and turn them on without you knowing. I know there is a light that's supposed to tell you the camera is on, but if you know what you're doing it's a pretty easy thing to activate the camera and not the light.
  19. I don't know how old the longest lived Surgeon General was (quick Google search didn't turn it up), but George Burns smoked at least one cigar and had at least one glass of scotch every day and he lived to be 100. So guess who I'm taking my health advice from?
  20. Romeo y Julietas are a little more reasonably priced and still pretty good. There' s a bunch of different versions of them, so try a few out and see if you find one you like. Then buy them by the box to save money. Also, you can skip your state sin tax by ordering online. Not that I'm condoning that kind of thing, just making a comment. I actually buy most of mine local because there is a really good cigar shop in town and the guy who runs it has all kinds of useful info. Also, these are good and not too badly priced: http://www.cvtobacco.com/press/shop/CIGARS/cigars.html
  21. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. In the picture of the one with the holographic optic, is the front sight even necessary? If it is, wouldn't you still be able to use the HK sight?
  22. Let me start by saying I really don't know anything about sights and optics (other than how to look through them) so any answers need to be un-technical, or at least have a good explanation of the technical details. Telling me that scope A has .06 better thingamajigs won't help me unless you tell me what thingamajigs do... My first question would be, is there really any reason to put anything other than iron sights on a Saiga 12? I see a lot of people putting red dot sights on theirs, but what does that really accomplish other than looking cool? And is there really much of a differe
  23. I'm an idiot. Replace LC9 with LCR in my post and it will then be accurate. It was actually the little .357 revolver I was considering at the time, not the 9mm semi-auto... (hence the 9 and the R on the end of the model numbers, which apparently I was too tired to pick up on)
  24. I second everything in this post. I looked at both the LC9 and the PF9 and ended up with the PF9 largely because it was less expensive, but it also carries 2 more rounds (7+1). My job has me shirt and tie so I carry it in a pocket holster most of the time since the pants allow for fairly easy draw from the pocket. It will fit in jean pockets but it's a little harder to draw depending on the cut of the jeans. I'm thinking about getting one of those holsters that look like a big cell phone case to carry it when I'm dressed casual.
