  1. This is what I have mounted on mine using the Carolina Sight rail. Holds true on the Saiga 12 and my AK http://centerfiresystems.com/SCO-COBRA.aspx
  2. I would agree with Kdog, I love my Kush, blast to shoot and for a shot gun, very little recoil. Cleaning is a bit of a pain, but beyond that, it is a keeper. Mike V.
  3. Well, compared to the lame stream media, the onion is joy to read, at least some of the articles have more truth in them than what you get with the others. :-)
  4. King Finally took the kush out to test it, after some tuning it ran like a champ, very nice gun to shoot and I was surprised that the recoil was not that bad. Ran 100 rounds through it and did some rapid fire. Have to get more loads to finish breaking it in, but so far I am satisfied beyond my wildest dreams. Mike
  5. Try henry's range down in homestead, 320 st and 228th ave. You can have a lot more fun there than at trail glades. ditto't to you, try henry's, a heck of lot more fun than trail glades. Only problem is that its 1 hr away each way, vs 20 mins compared to TG Ahh, but wouldn't you like to be able to rapid shoot your weapon? Can't do that at TG. BTW, Henrys is a haul for me also but I'd rather do that than TG.

  7. Nice job unclejake. Good write up. I agree with you on the maneuverability of this setup inside a house. One of the main reasons I did this instead of getting a KSG. It definitely shortens the whole thing up. I can't wait to take mine out to the range. May be able to do it this weekend as I finally got the misses out of the hospital. I second the motion on the CSS rail kit. Piece of cake and works great. Mike
  8. Thanks for sharing that info. I just checked my certificate and mine was born on the same day so I hope I am as lucky as you. Have to wail till the spouse gets better before I can go out in the field to test. Mike
  9. Two more pics: Sight View: Completed Project: The rail as stated earlier was really simple to install. Thanks to every one on this forum for help, guidance and advice. Mike
  10. Here are some better pictures of the CSS rail and sight. Indy, I do appreciate your picture of the sight view, that is a tough one to take: Top View: Side View Right: Side View left: Another view to show Clearance: With the Optics: Completed: Mike
  11. Wanted to let you know that I got the Kushnapup rail kit Saturday 6/23. The stock site gave me no trouble (thank you) in drifting off the stock as per indy's suggestions, from the left. Your product fit like a glove, and the clearance from the stock is perfect. Got my optics mounted and it works like a champ. I also got a 12 gauge laser bore sighter to help me get the optics set up for final tuning at the range. Pictures will follow in a bit as I have to attend to a sick spouse. Thanks to all for your reviews and suggestions. Mike This post is WORTHLESS without PICS!!!! LOL

  13. For someone who is used to working on guns.....I don't know his skill set. Scoutjoe: Look at post 77 in this thread, I am an Industrial engineer but have been working in telecomms for the last 30+ years. Gunsmith I am not, but trust me, this mod with the rubber buttpad anyone can do. I used a drill to open and ream a slot in the rubber butt pad to cover the width of the upper tang. It ain't pretty, but what the hell do I care, the stock butt plate covers it and it is functional as hell. Just two phillips zinc plated self tapping #6 X 1 3/4" (if I remember right) screws to take into
  14. Well, for a home defense purposes, I got this: http://centerfiresystems.com/SCO-COBRA.aspx and since it includes a laser, I need to have a way to mount it. I know with a shotgun you can just point and shoot in the general direction, but I don't really want to blast my house to pieces! :-) The sight rail from Carolina Shooting Supplies seems to be the easiest way and method to solve the issue. On the plus side, I can also mount this sight on my AK if I want to, though I have a scope with laser for that weapon. Indy, again, thanks for your reviews, they have been extremely useful. I'll
  15. Shotty, for the tang retrofit, you may want to take a look at this thread http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/77959-my-kushnapup-conversion/ as this is what I did. Not as fancy as Indy's but just as functional. Mike
  16. Greg (CarolinaSS) Thank you for the heads up, just ordered mine and can't wait to get it. From what I read that Indy said and his reviews I trust him and y'all explicitly on this. Something that is good quality that I can do myself with the skills I have and tooling available to me. This is the last piece I needed to complete the shotgun for me as I already got a red/dot laser combo sight. Woo Hoo! Mike.
  17. Carolina, you can count me in on wanting one of these also. Mike Ok... took it all apart again, so I could line things up and look... I would say that if the dovetail was 50% taller, it would still make contact on the plastic over the dustcover, but would sit more level... If you went DOUBLE the current dovetail height it would certainly clear, but would not touch anything, and be "floating" above the gun, so to speak... some people might want, that, others might like having it touch. Snipped for Brevity: Indy, thank you so much for taking the time to post these pics a
  18. As we say in the south, that dog will hunt. I am definitely getting one of these. Curious, how does it attach, do you remove the old sight and wedge this one in its place?, as that is what my rear sight looks like, it was wedged onto the barrel ring. Mike
  19. Snipped for brevity, PJD, I can confirm that the buttpad that I ordered from Midway is the same one that I got at the gun show. Mike
  20. Indy: I presume this is the one they talked about that replaces the rear fixed sight in the saga 12? I have looked at their website but they don't have it up yet, and am very interested in this. Thanks Mike
  21. Hi Sumsky, no, as I just finished it on Tuesday and the wife had me with the ball and chain all weekend long. Mike
  22. On you second message, I don't understand what you are asking, as all I have done is remove the original stock and fore grip and replaced it with the kush. Your Welcome. Mike
  23. Hi all: I know more detailed write ups have been done on this, but I wanted to add my two cents and upload the final product. I still need to add a rail (waiting to see what Carolina Shooting supplies is offering for the rear sight rail) which I will have to take to a gunsmith since it is a bit beyond my capabilities and tooling that I have. I took the suggestion from another board, and picked up a rubber stock cushion, cut out a slot for the upper tang and then screwed the butt plate onto the rubber cushion and the kushnapup stock. This really is the absolute easiest setup I hav
