Let me start by saying that the Auto Plug is the greatest thing since sliced bread but I had to do ALOT of work before I bought it. I had a for real VODKA gun. Ports not 90 degree with the bore which put one completely covered by the right side of the gas block, they were way undersized compared to my buddies stock S12, hell until I drifted the block off I swore I only had 3 ports. I was actually surprised to find the 4th. Also with the stock plug bottomed out and backed off til the detent clicked it completely sealed off the gas port and turned it into a single shot, I mean no movement of the

Appreciate the advise. My plug is stayin put but adjustment screw is backing out in just 5 shells about a 1/8 turn. It's not even affecting reliability at that point but I'm sure it would keep going if left unattended. This Saiga will see some local ammature 3 gun competition so I really want it to get set and permanently stay set for long strings of fire. I'm gonna end up on the loctite I was just seeing if any new ways had come up lately. I'll wait a week or two so if anybody has any new proven ways I'd love to here them. Thanks in advance.

Just put my TAC 47 Auto Plug in and it's the greatest thing since sliced bread but the infamous tuning screw is backing out. I didn't even have to adjust it. Right out of the box it was dead on. Yes I used the search and I read all the Blue Loctite remedies and I'm fine doing that but I was wondering if anybody has come up with any new remedies for this fix or is it the end all fix all for this little issue. By the way TAC 47 you guys rock!!! I absolutely love this thing. It truely completes this gun.

I just put a TAC47 Auto Plug on yesterday and I trusted it before but now it's definitely my go to gun.

I was gonna do one but I just decided to move it to the left side so my optics don't get in the way. I agree it has a nice shape though.

I made the swithch to Saiga when I got stomped by a guy with one at a local run what you brung match. The truth hurts but I'll take it. Seeems to be good people here, I may have just ran into my first idiot. I got good advise here though.

Ok, The G3 or HK91 is not a GAS GUN. I'm not sure of your definition of Gas operated but the G3 is not operated by gas. It is a semi locked roller gun. Slightly blow back operated but the gas is NOT bled off to operate the action. There is no gas port. No disrespect but I shoot this gun in Heavy Metal matches and I know it well. Maybe we are having a terminology thing here but it is not operated by bled gas. It's action is off the MG34 and MG42 style. ROLLER GUNS I am more than happy to debate this with you.

Done Son!!! Gas block came right off and I'll be damned if there wasn't another port hid ing in there completely comcealed by the block. So I cleaned them up taking just a little metal out at the correct angle. Hogged out the block so it no longer blocked the port. Put it back together and put my original recoil spring in and it's running the same crap on #4 that it would absoluteley only cycle on #5 with the weaker spring. I'd like to thank everyone for the advise and from stopping me from drilling it the opposite way. Like I SAID BEFORE YA'LL COME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

While I didn't do it with my Saiga I shot a Wild Hog that no BSing looked like the size of a couche (maybe the heat of the moment affected my size judgement) at about 20 yards broadside with an unchoked Mossberg 590 20" barrel with Remington 3" OO buck. It knocked him over and he squeeled but got up bucked like a bull and ran off into the brush. I know he was hit but found very little blood and never found the Hog. I as a new member appreciate the good attitudes I've seen here. I have alot of gun knowledge but this gun is it's own animal in alot of ways. I learned years ago on The High Road not to drink and post late at night (was not pretty) and I hurt some feelings. I'd like to thank the guru's for what they have to offer.

Funkedout, I like the way you think. Has anyone ever tryed drilling an extra port from the front of the gas block at a angle. Meaning not pulling it. If so does it work? I have a few minutes to spare to do this but it could be weeks before I could get the time to pull the gas block. I've got a family to support and I work in the Airline industry so I have a strange schedule and some long day as well as out of town travel to due airport audits (I'm not a flight attendant) I'm a ramp Lead/Supervisor/Auditor.

Well the G3 3 isn't a gas gun. But it was headache. Like I said I haven't done any gas system modifications YET. I just didn't want to unless I had to. I'm fully capable of doing them so it's just a matter of getting the time to do it. I wasn't trying to make it cycle better I just wanted to know if it sounded like I had enough gas flowing already or not and it sounds like not is the answer. Are the things I've heard about the TAC47 not liking under gassed guns true? Would you consider my gun undergassed? It won't cycle it on setting 4 and I heard that was necessary. I'm no fool I have alot of builds under my belt and I've been doing my own smithing for years. I've built only two AK parts kits but over 100 AR style rifles and even a G3 parts kit. All in my garage. With little or no instruction and everything I've built has run like a fine time piece. Not bragging just saying I'm not new to this stuff. My Saiga will cycle Winchester short short not even brass with my full reliability kit and the V Plug on full gas setting #5. I havent done any gas system work other than the V Plug, Puck and spring. Is this usually enough for the TAC47 to work perfectly. Technically the gun has only had about 100 rds through it and some people don't even consider that broke in (myself included) but man it runs good. I just don't want to have to manually switch settings. Not lazy I'm in the process of getting in to 3 gun and it as I'm sure you know may sometimes have several different kinds of shells in 1 mag
