MKA making great progress in Open 3Gun Division
toothandnail replied to toothandnail's topic in MKA-1919
Not necessarily open to the public, but if you call ahead and no event is setup, we let you shoot. -
From my understanding,( don't remember exact CO names so . . ) There were 2 partners to start with when the first MKA came out, they later split to produce MKA XN & BR99 . Now the MKA XN guy retired? sold to his son. The Match is the next gen of the MKA. Seems the BR99 is going over good in Europe, but a flop here. Just the opposite in Europe. Something about how they got classified under the VAT tax or some other screwy deal that makes the MKA about double the cost of the BR99.

MKA making great progress in Open 3Gun Division

Matches are open for everyone. come on out. -
We hosted a major 3Gun match at our range last weekend - Joshua took 2nd behind Jerry M, I was 5th -shoulda been 3rd, anyway The MKA was well represented at the match, close to half the div was running MKA's , no Sagia/VEPR's , several Xrails. at least 2 of those guys are switching to MKA's Josh had the fastest time overall on the all rifle stage, beating 2nd place by over 3 seconds.

Thanks guys, I don't ALWAYS answer on Sunday , depends on what I'm doing with the family. I won't be answering too many calls from today til Monday - we are hosting a Major 3Gun match at our range, about 180 shooters total, so we will be hoppin for the next several days. Many of the top shooters in the US will be here

Call me we can talk. If I post anything more, it gets reported and the mods delete it.

12" is HARD to get to run reliable, 13" is do-able but needs high velocity ammo, 14" runs very well.

Updated the original vid, at the end, with a 1919 Match that had s few rounds through it, ran 100% with 1145's

Here's a quick test today, the cold temps didn't help, but overall very good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZKp-JOJ0o8

This one is 100% factory, except for the forend, and 23 rnd mag. The barrel extension is longer, therefore the upper is bored deeper. So neither of those items will interchange. The locking block and carrier are also different, looks to be a better design. I haven't tried the bolt & carrier in an XN, but it looks like it would interchange. The carrier is one piece, similar to what we've been doing for almost a year. The lower is the same except for the front where the spring loaded feed ramp is - they've added about 1/4-3/8" to the front of the magwell to allow for the mechanism.

Metal spring loaded feed ramp, new 5 rnd mag Retracted Feed ramps with a "old style" 23 rnd mag

Replacement hopefully in the far future.

Actually our products will fit all 3 models Pre-XN, XN, & Match. Our early model forends were Pre-XN only, after the XN came out we have transitioned them over to a universal fit. The Side Charger forend is model specific( Pre-XN or XN/Match) due to the different length gas systems. The lower will fit the first 2 models, pretty sure Match can easily be machined to fit as well - doing testing on 3 this week. -
Replacement hopefully in the far future.

ours yes not sure about others. I have made a XN bolt work in a pre_XN as well. -
Finally got the MKA 1919 match in late today, didn't have time to do a complete comparison . but here's the quick stuff Mags - the have a different follower, I guess it's for the new feed ramp, but the old mags work just fine, at least the 2 we tried did. Barrel - now has 2 lugs to index the new alum front sight, barrel extension is about 3/4" longer than the others, all behind the ejection pin Guide Rod - shorter, now the barrel nut has a long extension that goes through the front cap to thread onto the shorter guide rod, The spring loaded feed ramp seems to work OK , We wil

The only factory stock I've seen broken like that. Was shot with the receiver bolt out

We do not recommend a LP spring in a new SG. Many times it will exhibit, many of the problems you are seeing. FTF is the main one IMO a new gun needs at least 100 rnds of break-in ammo, before using the LP spring.

All the Win AA boxes will look like the one in AR12's link. You just need a higher velocity - 1300fps is what you will need, most likely about the first 100 rounds, maybe more. Then try some 1250's

Located at the Tooth and Nail Armory range - Lead Farm 3Gun range. We already have many of the top shooters in the USA signed up for this 9 stage match. This match will have rifle targets from 5 to 600 yards, and a good mix of shotgun and pistol targets. Round count will be approx 150 for each gun, more definite numbers will be published the first week in March . There are only 6 slots available as of today, those will fill up soon so don't delay. We do have room for sponsors, some of those will have comped shooter spots available.

Interesting, can it be imported due to 922r and the collapsible/ folding stock ?

Missouri has had this program for about 10 years. Program here has quite a few hoops to jump through, most FSAers wont/ can't do it.
