Well Mike 20 ga , lemme take a stab at your questions : 1) Dinzag is top of the line , if you have to wait -it's for a good reason ! As for their competitors ....like you said yourself - no one else I know of sells muzzle breaks for the S 20 ! 2) As for those tiny plastic "buttons" : yes , you push those into the little holes where you said you got them facing up - that way when your target practicing and a flock of geese fly over , those little "buttons " fly up and knock the ducks out of the sky and you can act dumbfounded when the birds drop at your feet and you get a goose din

I found Dinzag to be about the only supplier of brakes for the 20 ga . Not sure why , but had to wait ten days or so for them to ship it ( now I'm not really beeaching about this - but 90% of their competitors get stuff shipped within 3 days ) . Got it and found it to be really neat ...... threads right on and is very heavy . It came with these tiny lil plastic inserts that I'm assuming can be inserted into the corresponding holes in the brake . Why or what for I can only guess ( again I ain't beeching ,but would have been nice to have some form of directions/information on the lil

Ahh yes ...........how in the world I got things done b4 the internet I really cant say ! I was trying to put on my new wood stock (Tiger Maple ...beautiful ! ) and removed the 2 screws and spent several miniuits with the vice in the basement trying to pull it off ....... (the gun I'm talking about ) , anyway ,when the sweat started beading on my forehead , a little voice kept whispering : "there's a third screw u fool -remember what you read on the boards ., 3 screws " so I pulled off the dust cover and there it was ! ........still had a hellova time hand fitting the sto

For the grittiness: Sand the receiver rails with ~300 grit sandpaper, for 10 minutes .......I can't remember knowing this - THANKS !
-
tHAT SMILE got wiped off my face real fast ........... took me 10 min. to get that P.O.S dust cover back on !!! I got 250 rounds of the Rio Buckshot and 100 rounds of Winchester birdshot - I am gonna shoot this pig until the barrel melts down !
-
You both got hearts of gold ....here I am unable/unwilling to take pix and your bending over backwards to help me ...... o.k - i just put the freaking thing back and locked it up tight ............let me go and unpack it again ..... O.k , off with the big thingy - Hallelujah !! theres that cover spinning around just like you say ...... and yes CSSPECS .........you pix look exactly like what I'm looking at ( real nice mags you sent me by the way !) .............so I'm good to go and got a big smile on my face !!!! but say ......, looking down into the guts with the cov

all righty then - I had the gun all packed away and locked in it's case ( going to the farm tomorrow to shoot it) - now it's on my lap ......... with the safety on fire and the gun uncocked -the dust shield is there , but I can look in that 2" x 3/8 " wide slot and see the spring and the thing the bolt comes back and hits ......as plain as day . It could be I'm somewhat whacked and imagining things -could be completely normal for all I know ......I know a picture would help you guys solve my problem - but I'm all tied up in my shorts worring about the Chicago police pulling me over tom

You guys are quick ! I KNEW IT DIDN'T LOOK RIGHT ...... I suck with images and no , i didn't put a lighter spring on 'der and I don't have any other Saigas .........and I would'nt dare put a recoil buffer on it ! I was so proud of myself and now It appears I'm screwed , well ......... not really .........but what seems so simple I have made complicated . If I have to , I'll stay up all night trying to photograph my debacle ........ b4 I do that though ......... is there two plates/shields on the recoil spring assembly ? I know for sure I got the one on there ......

I had the Cobra's shine up my bolt/carrier and thought I succeeded in getting it back together right ......but it looks to me like I missed a part . The slot behind the charging handle (that gets covered up when I slide the safety up and on - well , it looks wrong to my eye . It's just a gaping slot ( I love my wife ) that looks like all kinds of dirt and crud could just fall in there ; I don't remember at all that "look" before I broke it down to send off the bolt . I checked a whole bunch of images of the stock S20 and they nearly all look same as mine - but wasn't there some slid

$500 for a 20 ga.........? i WOULD take it too ! The S20 is a heck of alot more fun to shoot then the S12 .......... I don't like the sledge hammer punch on my shoulder -nor the tooth loosening, ball banging recoil of the 12 ga..
-
ohhhhh.......... that's what I'm talkin' about ! No respect
-
I visit this site very often and since I have a S-20 , I come to this forum instead of the S-12 one .......... but lets be frank - except for a few die hard S-20 fellers .........this forum is D.O.A ....which is too bad , because the S-20 is a different world then the 12 gauge

The OP muzzle device has been discontinued ; you can't buy it anymore
-
I can get most ammo to run on my S-20 on setting #2 - but I believe them that say running hi-powered shells at that setting will wreck the gun . Not sure what Rio you were buying @ $25 a box , but I get the good 'ole #1 buckshot delivered at about .55 cents a shell . I did.t buy my Saiga to shoot birds and girly ammo

Tom Jefferson was one of the greatest Americans who ever lived .....his principles of life and liberty have been watered down so much by modern politicians - they shouldn't even be allowed to utter his name . Our present government is so pathetic I can hardly bring myself to admit I'm American ........and hell yes -those stocks are really slick .
-
Just a minor error here - but the Rio 9 pellet Buckshot for the 20 ga is #1 , not double 00 . Rio does not make a 20 ga shell with double ought .
-
seems to me you know a hellova lot more then most
-
GunFun - I really took stock of your link to the "best reliability PROCESS for new owners" ...... is it safe to say the port sizes and procedure is the same for a S-20 as for the S-12 ? Thanks
-
Thats me ..... ole' lucky Mike ! I think though that the 20 gauge Rio has always been between #1 and #2 buckshot ; whereas the Rio 12 Gauge is Double ought

I just got a case of 250 RIO -20 ga 9 pellet buckshot RB209 from SGAmmo @ $124.90 - but somethings amiss (probably only in MY brain) ........ I had ordered a couple cases of RB-209 RIO Buckshot 2 years ago and it said " # 00 Buckshot 9 pellets " on the box; now on the box of RB-209 I just got - it sez " # 1 Buckshot 9 pellets " on the box . the SKU is the same , RB209 , for both . How could this be ?? It's got to be one or the other. aw shoot ....it was my brain ,, the Double 00 buckshot was 12 guage and the #1 is 20 ga

thanks GUNfun for your wisdom ......I will try it without the buffer in my S-20 , and I will see if the gun wears out in my lifetime I think that Bullpup setup is really neat , but I thought they discontinued the setup for Saiga's ?
-
"I also installed a recoil buffer (plastic) that is suppose to prevent metal fatique from the bolt slamming back - not certain how valid the claim is but the price was cheap " .....I was going to get an in expensive buffer myself - but when I did some digging on the internet , I found that more folks recommended NOT using one because of the damage it can do to the gun !
-
Seems strange to me that birdshot will cycle and Buckshot won't ........ I got just the opposite with my S-20 . I had Cobra work my bolt and carriage and I'm hoping it will run better , before I had to set it on "2" else it wouldn't function at all -with ANY type shell . I got to believe them that say these guns were designed for military use and as such were built to shoot really high powered shells. I just today got a 250 round box of RIO Buckshot and I'm sur hoping my gun will cycle it on the "1" setting .

Thanks Sunnybean - I have checked out those handy parts websites and after some confusion , I got the gist of it . There are grey areas ; for example ....if I remove the stock thread protector on the end of the barrel and replace it with a US made muzzle break , would that count ? and if I may ask - what would happen (in general) if I'm out shooting and some official attempts to determine if my S-20 is compliant ......... If in their judgement I am NOT compliant -whats the worst they could do to me ?? Don't get me wrong , I will certainly BE compliant ...but there are all kind

I found out for positive - if I use larger then a 5 rounder -then I'm a criminal ........ I went and ordered 2 of the Csspecs 10 rounders @ $55 a pop , now I have to make my gun compliant
