  1. Saw a post from CS on another forum from last night.. <ak files> http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193075 First and probably second batch are going to be 8 rd. I have not made time to get our new press running, I'll do that in August. That should open the door for going larger than 8 rds, however I'll still need to source the springs and the like. And if your on our email list, you will get a heads up 5 days before they go for sale giving you the day and approximate time, and another 1 hour before. I don't do pre-orders, but I'll be sure to let everyone
  2. Does/did Centerfire charge your card now for the preorder, or will they do that when the drums actually ship? I wouldn't mind reserving a place in line, just don't want to pay for something that I don't have any idea when it will ship...
  3. I don't see you getting hurt on that deal - it's all quality stuff purchased at a non-panic price. And we already know the MD arms drums are gone when they go out of stock - so you have a "legendary" un-bubba'ed Saiga, and a very well-regarded MD arms drum, along with some mags that should be indestructible. In 2, 5 or 20 years, it'll all be recognizable as good stuff. If you think about anything that people tend to collect, be it guns or sewing machines or lunchboxes - "step one" is buy the toy & "step two" is collect *all* the goodies that were hot when that item was originally
  4. Saigas went from $600 to $850 for anyone with any google fu - I paid $584.42 (shipped) for my Saiga 12 on the 17th. http://www.firearmsforsale.com/unknown/unknown/rwc-saiga-12ga-shotgun-19in/ <--- 7 in stock right now @ $850-ish If you saw an unconverted Saiga go for $1400, that was an uninformed buyer. If it was fully converted with extra mags/drums & a kung-fu grip then the seller may well have lost money. You're not going to triple your money unless you're willing to wait a very long and undetermined amount of time, or you find a sucker. It is very likely you'
  5. I beg to differ, recent experience proves the above statement to be far off the mark. Sandy Hook alone pushed the cost over $2,000.00 and availability to exactly ZERO. There were lots of dreamers and goobers who posted $2k M&P Sports, plastic Bushmasters & heavily-bubba'd Saigas on Gunsmoker & Backpage after sandy hook - Much like the $650 Glocks on there today, they don't sell. If your "target market" for an "investment" is retarded people in a panic situation, then, yeah.. you might score.. Heck.. with a business model like that - you should know there's a g
  6. Worst case, I'd bet a good welder could fill in that oblong hole & extend the lever a bit. A replacement lever would likely be cheaper if you can find one..
  7. I don't think "investment" is really the proper term for these - unless you're able to buy ten or twenty at a time & sit on them for at least a few years. The recent bump in pricing will have lots of safe queens popping out of the shadows with all the classic "bubba" mods keeping a lid on pricing. When they've been gone for 5+ years - perhaps after they're named in an AWB situation, the (currently) $900 unconverted Saigas might pop to $1500~ish.. above that, there really isn't much room for appreciation - you lose a lot of buyers when you pop over $1k. People who intent to shoot th
  8. Looks like a few (9!) showed up at Atlantic this morning.. If your google-fu is good, there are still a few guns out there, but the supply is drying up fast..
  9. I'd probably go one step further & try to cut a deal with someone like Cope's, Aim Surplus, Classic, etc for a big run on whatever mags you have quantity of - An email blast from one of the big guys could probably move several hundred mags in just a couple days, which would both get the brand name out there & get a cash infusion to offset some of the sunk development costs. You know that the week of July 28th there will be 600+ new Vepr owners out there who each got *1* five-round mag with their gun.. lol.. (Buds and Classic's pre-orders) I know if I wanted 5 rounds
  10. I think people who sell guns are chomping at the bit for another panic and they will price most saigas so high they won't sell them. It's pretty obvious the Russians knew the ban was likely, and dumped everything they had at us all year - that's why the Vepr 12's went down to $799 (you know they wanted those to stay at a premium price) - I think this will be a funny situation - the Saiga's are better known than the Veprs, so I can already see Saiga's going for $1200 on backpage, while Veprs are available at online retailers for less than that.. Just from doing a little
  11. It's an awful break, but that said, pretty much every Saiga in inventory was sold at one time, in a period of a few days - and a bunch more will be trading hands over the next few months - From what I can tell, about 1,000 Vepr 12's are available for sale as of today.. no telling how many Saigas and Veprs sold last week, but if you believe the Russians, they were looking for 100k sales in the US this year - and you know they dumped everything they had available at us as fast as they could after about March.. figure 50k new guns, plus a boatload of guns will be popping out of safes across
