  1. ooooh ok. It threw me off when I saw that picture, I didn't realize there was a difference in aperture size in the s12, and rifle sights. Thank you for clearing that up for me.I did realize it was an S-12 when he said he was shooting turkeys and clay/wing shooting though. So I got that goin for me. Haha
  2. The neighborhood cats Chase you everywhere you bring your gun.
  3. You might be tacticool if... Thought this might be fun. My examples: All of the flashlights in your house have a weaver mount. The only vest you've ever worn is "tactical". Your dress shoes are tied with paracord.
  4. Forgive me for my ignorance here. But when using such a setup, on a rifle specifically...how do you aim? I know , I must sound like an idiot. But I have no experience using an aperture sight. So would I be trying to center the "ring" of the front sight blades in the ring of the rear sight? How does it work in the setup pictured above?
  5. There's still no GT it seems. I emailed the guy I got my saiga through, and he, at least,! still has probably 800-900 rounds. I bought 100 from him before when he said he had 1000. Would have bought more if I had known better. He's got a small shop in the middle of nowhere so I don't know how many people are wandering in to get x39. He's about an hour away from me but I'll probably go grab at least 400 rounds. Anyone been able to find any since this thread died?
  6. Oh haha I didn't realize this thread was that old when I posted my reply. Should have included the price in the screenshot.
  7. Perfect for home defense. You can drop the bipod and prop it on the counter so you can look totally awesome when the bad guy comes to steal your Xbox. Oh and you can choose between a green and red laser depending on what color shirt he's wearing.
  8. I thought maybe that one and a rear peep would be ok, but please elaborate as to what makes this a bad choice. Also when going with post and aperture, is it necessary to have the rear sight mounted closer to your eye, or does the standard sight position work best? How about mojo, good choice? Edit: On second thought, Krebs looks like it may be a better choice. For the same reason 6500 said. That crosshair would be covering a massive portion of the target. There's no way you could get a consistent POA on it at even 50 yards, let alone 100-200. Dang W8 took yah long enough haha nah, but I r
  9. Do you have any personal experience with dual aperture sights on an ak platform?
  10. It is my understanding that krebs rear peep sight is a good choice for upgraded iron sights. I asked a similar question not long ago in a thread titled "Precision Irons?".
  11. One benefit I think it may have is that it does not easily wipe out of the lettering when you wipe off the excess as some other products tend to do.
  12. Yes, sorry, should have specified. Seems to have hardened up well. Application was easy. It has a grease-like property until it dries I guess you would say. The clouding was the only problem but that was more my fault than the product. I stuck my finger nail in it an hour or so after and didn't make a dent or anything. Overall I think it worked very well, I hadn't tried other things so I can't say it was better than other options.
  13. Tried it out just now. Some little bit of clouding, and in my experience, non acetone nail polish remover is not safe for use on factory finish.
  14. Thought I'd beat a long dead horse here because I found something else that might work. I haven't used it because I'm not sure if I like the look or not. But I grabbed this from work and thought I'd throw it out there.
  15. Thanks guys, I'll update once I get it finished up.
  16. Tools are..limited to say the least. I cut slots with a dremel cut off disc and hand filed them out with various small files. It's a work in progress so they're not all completely even at the moment. Needs three more cuts to get down to the end. Pain in the ass and time consuming, but I like it so far. Edited for spelling.
  17. So...I said the hell with it and started, here's where I'm at. I'm not sure why those other pics are little like that...
  18. Guess I should have know after looking down the tube...
  19. Interesting point, thank you. If he's just doing the cover, no more smoke than normal will roll out. The actual gas tube would still be intact. Oh, I was wondering about that, I didn't know if there was something I didn't know about hiding under there, or exactly what he meant.
  20. Just a rough idea at this point obviously. The lines on the tape indicating the general location and shape of the slots. Open to opinions and criticism here..
  21. True, I should do that one of these days. Put it on paper I mean, not send it to you for disposal. Haha.
