  1. High Speed Gear Taco pouch is molle compatible. It works with AR,AK,Saiga 12, just about any mag imaginable. I'm thinking of setting up a chest rig with 3-4 tacos across the front, blow out kit, utility pouch, nalgene carrier, and be happy. Could be grab and go for any of my mag-fed long guns. They also make it with a pistol taco pouch mounted on the rifle taco, call it the double decker taco! I'm seriously not making this up.
  2. I got interviewed by John Scouten after shooting stage 3, the all-shotgun stage. Glad to see it didn't end up on the editing floor. Can't wait to sign up for the 2009 match. He was real interested in open shotgun, and the Saiga specifically.
  3. I shot on the same squad with sinistralrifleman, and got interviewed by John Scouten for Shooting USA too. He was amazed our Saiga's didn't crap out every other shot, like he was told they would. I got lucky to be interviewed and video'd on stage 3, the all-shotgun stage. I placed 3rd on it behind Miculek and Durst in open, so it was the highlight of my match. Ran into Scouten at dinner that night at the steakhouse and he said to look for the episode in the early spring.
  4. I've been shooting my S12 in 3gun, and the Benelli guys with Tecloaders are killing me. My load routine is lock bolt back using the manual bolt hold open, draw new mag from pouch, rake the bottom of gun with it, knocking old mag out, insert new mag and work the bolt handle. Too many steps. I keep coming back to the youtube vid of the guy dumping 20 rds. with the LRBHO, and want mine to run like that. So, who has LRBHO's available, and who can install one for me? I am using pre gen2 AGP 10rd mags. My S12 is 100% reliable now, and that is the most important thing in 3gun. I did search, but it
  5. philq80, Will the prize table be visited in order of finish, or random drawing? 3 of us are coming down from Dayton, and are scheduled to come home after shooting on Sat. Just trying to plan accordingly. I will be shooting my Saiga in open division. Openb
  6. Ft. Benning uses time plus scoring. A single A hit, or two anywhere, to neutralize a target. No power factors for major/minor. USPSA uses San Angelo scoring, two hits on paper targets, major/minor accounted for.
  7. So I get my Ultimak in today, and it says to unscrew the front sight. That sucker will not turn! So I go on to the rear, first trying a regular hammer, then a 4# baby sledge, and a steel punch, and can't budge it. What's the secret to getting the sights off this beast.
  8. I believe that is the saiga mount made by AMS for Tromix. It has a plate that works with both mounting styles, it is reversible, or switchable in some manner. As for the Glock dovetail being the same as the Saiga, that is very interesting. Can someone confirm? or give me a link to it. I was wanting to mount that RPDII in the rear dovetail, but couldn't find anything short of welding a steel rail on receiver, so I ordered the Ultimak. If a Glock adapter would work, that would be great.
  9. There is a guy on AR15.com named Victor, at Tactical Night Vision, that sells a Docter clone called the RPDII. It has an aluminum body and glass lens, and comes with a weaver base on it. I bought one as a close range optic on my open div. 3 gun AR. SUPER sight! If the weaver base is removed, it uses the Docter bases, not JP. Best thing is it is $139. He also sells 1" and 30mm mounts that mount on scope tubes so you can piggy back the RPDII on your scope. I tried that, but could not find a position with a comfortable cheek weld, so I will mount it on the forearms tube instead. I am waiting on a
  10. Blackjack Buffers has both models from Ultimak for ribbed and non-ribbed S-12's. I was looking at the one for non-ribbed. For anyone using one, was it difficult to install, does it hold zero, and are any mods needed to the gun to use it? Was it worth $90?
  11. I've been pricing converting my S-12 recently. I got an email from MAA yesterday about the various pistol grip stocks available. The one with a fixed stock and SAW grip runs $140. I figure if I add a G2 trigger and a Polychoke, I would be in compliance. Does a G2 trigger fit in an unconverted receiver? This would be cheaper than the quotes I've been getting and the 6 month wait. Opinions? Please don't say convert it yourself, that just isn't an option.
  12. I am using my S12 in 3 gun competition, where it is in open class, so I may run optical sights on my guns. I have a Docter optic with a Weaver base, and a couple Tasco PDP2's laying around. I know there are AK mounts that sit pretty high that mount on the side rail. I would like something as low profile as possible. Any suggestions would be great.
  13. I just bought the last Saiga 12 at Ohio Rapid Fire. They did not know when they would get anymore. 19" with threaded barrel. I want to shoot open class 3 gun with it, and did not want to regret passing up the only one I could find because it was $50 more than I wanted to pay.
