  1. actually the reliability of the 1911 is due to the very strong ejector. the rounds dont actually seat into the head of the chamber...its the ejector holding the round in place that makes it not malfunction. at least on the old govt. issue pistols. dont know about glocks or whatever. just my 2 cents on that.
  2. SammoH: thats crazy! that alone would get me buying them, as I shoot a lot per session myself, and I actually had a round cook off on me one time. I guess the plastic doesnt transfer heat the same way. If thats the case, I would think that the barrel temperature should be lower as well....
  3. Yeh those are .30 cal carbine clips sticking out of them. Ive been toying with the idea of ordering just the trigger mechanism parts and having a machinist I know make me the rest of it for next to nothing. That is just a little steep for my tastes, that guy's prices. Its a couple of bars, a knob, a gear or two, a couple linkage parts, and a stand. Oh yeh, and a clamp :/
  4. Obviously you need me to walk you through this with your dizzying intellect BattleRifleG3. Here is the LETTER of the LAW: (5) The term "shotgun" means a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of an explosive to fire through a smooth bore either a number of ball shot or a single projectile for each single pull of the trigger. key in on this part: ...weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder... now, you go to the rifles

    Where's my money

Well, thats good, I was going to go up there this thursday and ask the guy nicely to send you your money. Glad it worked out, now I can scedule my next contract earlier. Kinda wanted to hit the gun store up there though. O well, my local dealer is better anyhow.... Gaddis: Exactly why I was giving it a week or two....

Yeh, they set thier trigger pulls too light, and get accidental double and triple taps off. Ive seen that too. There was an episode of a crime show on tv about that very thing killing some kid and they didnt know how it happened till they checked the guy's trigger pull.
  7. KySoldier: Its for accuracy when you break in the barrel when its new. You groups will hold just a tad smaller if you do that. I dont know about using solvent each time. I THINK you do it dry, or light lube or something. Ill check for you. Its something competition shooters do, if you dont do it you wont lose that much on it.
  8. KySoldier: did you read in your manual that you should be running a cleaning rod down the barrel every shot for 20 rounds, then every five shots till you hit 100 rounds? then every twenty rounds till you put 500 through your barrel? without changing direction in the middle of the barrel? sounds like your gun is still needing to be broken in if you had an ejection problem that soon....it coulda been the ammo too I suppose, but that stuff looks pretty good...
  9. rifle or shotgun, this is the actual piece of the law that tells us we cannot pistol grip the gun... ...a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder.... PG conversion would make the weapon able to fire NOT from the shoulder. hence you have made an assault weapon.
  10. I'd just like to interject here that I LOVE CHEAP GUNS!!! LOL I would also like to mention here that one of the things I weigh against when I purchase a gun vs some other gun of close price/specs is the fact of where it was made....I try to buy USA made stuff first, or something in good shape that used, in general. But thats just me. Id rather pay a little more even for american goods, just because those dollars arent going out of the country and possibly never returning here.
  11. The SAR I have has the dark wood. Apparantly, if you strip the wood, its two different types of wood or some shit. The foregrip is one kind of ash, the stock is another type. Go figure. They finish on mine is quite dark though. The newer SARs I have seen all have the natural clear finishes on them...not sure when the change was made though.
  12. That is exactly the issue Im trying to address. I just spoke to the sherriff, the state police, the ATF, the game warden, AND my local dealer. Apparantly, EAA is protecting its import liscense and doesnt want to thread on thin ice. The police had no answer, the ATF gave me a run around. The game warden however did say that a PG during hunting season IS illegal, if used during shotgun season, at least in NY where I live. Go figure. Not an answer for me. Apparantly, pistol grip nulls the definition of the law of shotgun, in that shotgun is made, desgined or redesigned to be fired from the should
  13. Well, I am seeing some discrepancies in the laws here regarding .410 and the definition of shotgun. I have to make a few phone calls here...I'm going to finish this topic off once and for all if it kills me LOL. Why would you be allowed to buy the 10 round 410 mags....i dont get it. Definition of shotgun (5) The term "shotgun" means a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of an explosive to fire through a smooth bore either a number of ball shot or a single projectile for ea
  14. KySoldier, why dont you just order off cdnninvestments.com? Im sure your dealer there will only charge you like 45 bucks or something for receiving it for you....
  15. I will dig and put an end to this issue once and for all. Either way it goes, Ill be pleased to get a headache from the ATF laws LOL. Im fairly certain 410 falls out of shotgun territory though. why else would they sell 10 rounders to public?
  16. If 410 is a shotgun, why are there ten round mags available to the public for it? Its semi-auto and clip fed. If its a shottie, it would be allowed only 5 rounds......
  17. LOL you need to put a bipod on that thing guys!

    Where's my money

Guns dont scare me, nor do people holding them. Cops and MPs scare me. I doubt the guy is either. I figure I'll see if this guy even lives there, and if he does, just give him a friendly reminder that he owes someone money. Or his parents for that matter. Its not like its a lot of friggin money....dude should pay ya

    Where's my money

Yeh, I cant find the last name Bredenko OR the address 548 Route 40, Troy New York 12182....according to mapquest there IS NO route 40 in troy, NY. Are you sure that it isnt RURAL route 40? In which case that isnt a street, but a mailman's route #....I do however see Bredenko names in the general vicinity of troy. You might need to call up the Post Office for that ZIP code and ask them about the address....that would definately help me out some.

    Where's my money

Oh, if i go up there, I most DEFINATELY will bring a camera with me. In Troy NY, I cannot carry, so o well on that note. Im thinking its a kid anyway. Let me do some checking for you Tengu about that address and name etc. Do you have a picture of the part you sold him? one that you took of the original item? That will help. I'm working my friggin ass off these days now that the weather has improved, but when I have time, I dont have any problem going up there to ask the person to thier face what the hell thier malfunction is....
  22. There is always the option of the new Taurus revolvers that are chambered in .45 ACP. I am pretty sure its Taurus that is the one making them ? I read a couple of articles on them a ways back and they look pretty good. I understand why you would want to carry a revolver in the woods....its not going to fail you if you need it.
  23. Ill make up a jello jug and pop it with a .40 s+w FMJ round. Im curious now myself what it will do to a organic body. Im thinking it will pop like a balloon, but if not, hey, thats fine. Id expect the same out of a 10mm as well, as the .40s+w is just the 10mm shortened for police carry situations. I prefer the penetration aspect of the round anyway. I have a large 5" piece of maple I cut off of a stump that I want to try the .40 on as well before I take it apart with my AK as well. I'll post pics when I get the time to go try it out.

    Where's my money

Want me to drive up there and kick his ass? LOL wait, 15 bucks huh? Im not going to go kick someone's ass for 15 bucks, but I dont like thieves, and prolly dislike them more than the average person. Its an hour away from me, 15 bucks will cover my gas to get there and back. Sounds like a good opportunity to scare the bejesus out of a wise ass kid though.
