  1. Finnished new prototype tonight. Release works much easier and loads slick, weather permitting will try out and update in the afternoon.
  2. Sorry Guys, the holidays put me a little behind. I came up with an improvement and am making it tomorrow. Should post it by Wed.
  3. I believe the 7.62 mags are too curved to work with .223. If you look at .223 mags, you'll see that they are a lot more straight... This is true. The profile of the round is totally different and will jam in the mag.
  4. I have one that has called so many times when I break out the big guns, they don't even come anymore. The last time a buddy brought a BMG up and we shot it, the sherriff called and ask if I was using explosives. The guy said his furniture was walking across the floor and his sealing was dropping dust and sand all over his house. I told him it was just a friendly Sat. afternoon shoot. He laughed and told us to have fun. He'll need me one day.....
  5. I don't think mine ever will be! They just keep making stuff.....
  6. I agree. Food and lots of it! Water purification tablets, immodium, FUEL!! for tractors and cars or cycles and generator, generator ( a really nice one that will power almost everything can be picked up on the cheap from military surplus), thanks for the antibiotics where to get info. Seeds and if you have the room, fruit and nut trees. A one acre clover patch near water will attract meat sources. Recipies for wild game (if applicable as is some of the rest), Solar powered motion detectors for the deterrent of sneaking critters with 8oz of gas, a good dog is your second best alarm (and first l
  7. A Para is not really a 1911, but it is my favorite .45. Small, accurate, and Hicap. I sometimes go deer hunting with it in thick brush and have killed two. It is my go to weapon. I had a shooting match with a guy on another forum shooting DVD's at 25 yds 4 rounds in each. He didn't believe I was shooting through the center holes until I enlarged the pics so he could see some nicks.
  8. Gunbroker had 1 decent price on .308. I think it was Brown Bear. I checked for x39 and just ran across the .308. It was about .35/rnd a few hours ago.
  9. I'm giving it a good trying out before submitting to Magnolia. I have all the bugs worked out of it now and so far so good, but I don't want to let go of it until I'm sure! I've been through 500 rounds so far with no issues. I hope to be satisfied with it by the end of the week. I will keep you guys posted.
  10. I have the same problem, the cutout for the bolt is a fraction off. It can be a real headache until you learn to roll the bolt into the receiver (or you can just hit it a few times with a file). Once I learned to roll it slightly, it goes in easy enough so I haven't filed it yet (but I thought about it!). Keep playing with it and remember how you get it to go when it does. If your dealer has learned to do this, he'll do it fast and make you feel like a dope. Once you get it back together, run a few rounds through it and see how it shoots. It will probably work just fine. I don't think there's
  11. Which one was that? I have so many. I did good to remember it at all and you're asking me? I've slept since then, you know.
  12. To be legal, you will have to be present while the conversion is done, unless you send it to someone like Tromix and wait. Sorry you just can't have everything. I dont think Renegade meant that you have to actually be present for a conversion to be done. I believe any licensed gunsmith(many of which on this site) can do the work and return weapon to you when done. No need to wait or help with the work (unless you'd like to) and being a liscensed business they should (hopefully) have plenty of liability insurance Good luck HarvKY What I meant was, anyone that is n
  13. It does work and is a very cool and smart add on to a Saiga.
  14. Unfortunatly, the last part is probably correct. You never answered evildogs question, and it was at the heart of the discussion. We were headed in the Socialist direction with either candidate, just gonna move faster that way with Obamanation. The main reason the Repubs or Dems can't stop it is you can't take away something that has already been given and be re-elected. Just as Deerhunter has been given more and more by union reps after their time had past, and have helped drive the cost of our goods up to the point that we can't compete with the overseas businesses, or the people that won't
  15. Are you still mad about bringing your GF and holding my beer? At least I didn't make you watch!
  16. To be legal, you will have to be present while the conversion is done, unless you send it to someone like Tromix and wait. Sorry you just can't have everything.
  17. Good for you! Not necessarily, on a firearms-related web site. Most gun owners were finished with the Democrat Party years ago (check out the election result in 1994), thanks to the innumerable gun-bans the Democrats pushed (& passed) at the State & federal level. The Democrat Party will do the same under this federal administration - a leopard (& a Socialist) can not change its spots. The Democrat party is and has been anti-gun, and therefore is and has been anti-freedom. True - Zell Miller is one of my favorite public officials. The Democrat Party (& Mr. Oba
  18. Yes, You Can! No it wasn't close, but no one here is happy about the outcome. I'm not sure we'd be delighted if it had gone the other way, but we'd feel safer about our guns. Let us know how you feel about it when Your liberal jackass makes you new Saiga illegal and raises ammo so high you can't shoot it and you're taxed to death to pay for his programs! I know, he's not gonna raise taxes. BULLSHIT!!!
  19. I will be glad to help you. There's another person from Harrisburg that wants help also, if you're close to Charlotte or Salisbury, maybe a build party? If you're closer to the Raleigh area, Cobra would be your best bet AFAIK.
  20. Give me some time to catch up on orders I have already received and I'll get back to you. Thanks
  21. thanks desert dog, that is where I am torn. I LOVE the looks of the PSL, and for the money seems to have more, but heard differing opinions on the 308 vs 54R round I was thinking long term and bought the Saiga. .308 Is and always will be availible as long as ammo is. If any ban stops the importation of ammo, the 54r will become rare and very expensive. You can also reload the .308. The PSL from what I've heard is more accurate at long distances, but most of us are not capable of shooting 600+ yards, as calculating the different variables gets quite sticky. My 7mm-08 will reach the d
  22. Installation is not terrible. It's pretty straight forward, you just have to be careful. Yes a dremel will do all you need. Magnolia doesn't have pics yet as I haven't completely solved the soft point problem. I'm improving though.
