johann 0
I recently bought a Saiga 7.62x39. Just curious as to what types of pins etc. folks have used for the holes left in the receiver after adjusting the trigger assembly. Also, does anyone know if the retainer plate that you can buy from numerous sources is worth using?
nalioth 405
I've read about folks using the nylon hole plugs from your local do-it-yourself store. Some weld them up. The retainer plate is wwaaaay overpriced for what it is. A less expensive option: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=19193&hl=

rocinante 100
for the rifle the retainer plate is easy to use and will definitely hold the pins rock solid. yeah the little sliver of metal for 12 bucks seems excessive but it does deliver on promised function and peace of mind. The shotgun is a different story.
6500rpm 670
e clips from the hardware store for the pins unless you plan on taking out the FCG a lot. The plate works well, but your talking about 2 pins. Less than a buck vs $12, both work equally well, the plate makes removal/reinstallation easier if your not particularly handy with that stuff Edited October 11, 2007 by 6500rpm
Navy87Guy 1
Nalioth is being modest, check out this post for a cheaper (and easier!) way to keeop the hammer and trigger pins in place. It's brilliant -- just wish I had seen it before I completed my second conversion!! Jim
