topmaul 42
The Swat gun is way cool but I for one hope they take those features and put them on all production Saiga shotguns and rifles there by removing the only draw backs these weapons have when compaired to western types. In other words they can improve and surpass the west. If the incorperate these vast improvements into the whole line of weapons. We could simply convert the new Saigas to what ever configuration we want.
kevinadv 0
I wonder what someone would be willing to pay for one of these new saiga swats here in the US ! With 5 Us parts it would be legal to own.

kevinadv 0
I think we are fairly safe having the 5 US parts in the gun! There have been enough inquires and real experts go over this area. The problem would be importing a s-12 saiga. To leagaly import in this configuration it would have to be stamped LEO with it's pistal grip and folding stock. Add the 8 rd mags and the problems there. I would net like have one stamped even if it has been modified. They can't remove the stamp, And pure hell trying to explain it to Every L.O at the local range. Try telling a cop you have this really cool shotgun marked LEO and that he can't have one because they are not importing them and yours isn't really a LEO model since you changed some parts! Good Luck with that! On a positive note. You should be able to import saiga swat in sporter conf. then mod. when it arrives. The new model with weaver rail, mag well, and new sights! RDSWriter 5
Don't worry about LEO guns... just printout the letter (from the ATF website) issued by the ATF after the expiration of the AWB which states that LEO stamped firearms and magazines can now be sold to your average Joe. Keep it in your range bag because it clearly states what can and cannot be sold pertaining to LEO markings. Personally, I've never had a cop, officer, game warden or anyone else ever give me grief when I pull out a Form 4, Form 1, or any other ATF documentation.
TWGLADF 0
i thought it can't be imported if it was "nonsporting" as in having a pistol grip. the awb has nothing to with this at all. its the importation ban of 1989. which has no expiration. that governs what can and cant be imported. USMC_LB 4
Sorry to dig up a old thread... Well, I keep up as much as the next borderline obsessed gun freak, and I've by no means seen "several" dealers selling 12-C's. You might can keep up but your search skillz SUCK! This is just a few: http://www.keepshooting.com/saiga12c.htm http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=1503 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=30293181 There were several 12C's for sale on GUNSAMERICA right after the AWB expired. You can google and find links buit the ads are long gone once you click on the Google link. At this late date its hard to find one but there is plenty evidence that they were available. Im not saying they were "EASY" to find as 19" S-12's from CDNN but if you looked hard enough there were SEVERAL dealers selling them. Keep in mind that the COMPLIANT PARTS would HAVE TO BE INTALLED BEFORE you could take possesion of the shotgun. LB

LB <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or the rifle torn down into parts. US parts count only required for assembled firearms. Otherwise all import parts kits would be illegal.
Pirahna 0
I posted this exact same thread a few days earlier then you had and got slammed regarding that this is actually an 03 model from izhmash while I still contend that izhmash them selves had said it was a new modification from an email directly to me. Still no price quote on it and their export department hasnt contacted me or my local gun shop in regards to having it imported for me to buy. But, I am on the paper trail to get one ASAP so IF I do get one I will definately let you guys know when I get it and the price paid.
USMC_LB 4
I would just like to know how the new magwell works.... It would be nice to not have to "rock" mags and just simply insert them. LB

I guess you and I have differing versions of "several dealers selling"... Linking to three ads I guess could qualify as "several" as it's more than "a couple", but there were by no means "several" dealers selling them. Reports vary, but there are no more than a few hundred guns in country, with one report saying the number is 100 (which I would believe) No, I didn't see "several" 12C's after the AWB on gunsamerica- I saw two, and I was looking every day with cash in hand ready to buy (and got aced on both of them). It's probably for the better as I would up buying a number of S12 sporters instead, and as things stand i'd rather have a number of S12 platforms to play with than one "factory" 12C. I kick myself in the ass for procrastinating on his last one, which he wanted $750 for. It had a forward pistol grip, parts compliant, recoil pad and some other extras.
