New Saiga fresh off the boat does this look right?

Recommended Posts

Busted down a new one at my local Gun Shop yesterday to show a friend. Did Not look like that, it looked like my 2006.

HMMMMMM, Whatcha got there?

Mine is a newly imported 7.62 by 39 caliber version. Imported on the most recent shipment.

I have seen about the retooling and maybe there are changes.

The receiver surface has a different texture which is less smooth and more similar to

a grainy brush pattern. Nothing I have seen before.

are the front sights canted? I'm wondering if any are in this new shipment.

Thats the first thing I checked when purchasing.

The sights are perfectly straight.

Here is a detail of my recent Saiga, note the serial number, same series as yours?

That is a military contract reciever, just so you know fleegman, and worth more that others like it. It is worth a bit more than that even, if it has the Y stamp.

So,um... just where would I find an "x" or "y" ? I got it at 10percent firearms in Taft, CA, $350.

Looked at some at the GS in Ft worth ..........looked like all those I've seen before. Maybe u have the latest "new and improved!"

What parts are different in your view?

The spring rod looks different for sure.......ans the finish looks more of a parker, rather than painted. Thats just what I see from you pic. That pics of the whole weapon.

Dimpled or not? Are the holes for the AK fire control group stamped inside?

The recoil rod is wires instead of one piece. I checked it is paint.

I'm not sure what you mean by holes stamped inside.

My recoil rod is wires, or segmented like that. Why is there a difference for, as far as the recoil rod???

CheepJerokee posted that my recoil rod looks different than he has seen before.

I can't seem to remember which was used often in past examples.

That's how both of mine look in my Saigas. 1 dimpled, 1 not.
