mstranglr 9 Posted November 3, 2008 Report Share Posted November 3, 2008 Funny thing is, most footage I have seen of Russians using AKs in combat shows them shooting from the hip. You almost NEVER see US military do this (when they do, they use the underarm asault position for CQB). The russians always shoot from the hip as they move, unlike western military that utilizes aimed or indexed fire on the move. I watched video of real Russian firearms instructors, and they spent a great deal of time transitioning right-left-one handed- two handed firing positions from the hip. The AK is a different system with a completely different manual of arms. The AK is a machine gun more than a rifle at heart, the AR is just the oposite. The Russians run and train with the AK as a machine gun. The Americans run and train with the AR as a precision rifle. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
