DANGERRUSS 0
Do any of you have an opinion of these two stocks. I am thinking of using one on my S-308 long bbl. I went to Choate website but it does not list the saiga. It has for the Mak90 stamped but it that an angle cut reciver? They also say the cheekrest is an option, but I could not find it on the site. The ATI looks a little lower in quality, However I have not seen eithe in person to make a better judgment. Any help would be great. Thanks Russ P.S. I will be "denutering" this to the orginial config. so I need a stock for a pistol grip converted Saiga
Bayoupiper 738
I've handled both and went with the Choate. The stamped receiver stock is the one I got and fit well. I did have to do a little Dremmelling to get the trigger guard fit just right. As you can see in the photo, the stock is angled but fits around the back of the Saiga receiver. I got my stock and cheekrest from Midway. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...&t=11082005
gunnysmith 4
It's the MAK 90 stamped and it fits the square back receiver.

Bayoupiper 738
Mine doesn't fit flush either. I cranked it down real tight and gave it a try. The cheek weld works very well for me so I'm not worried about it. But you'd think Choate of all people could fix that little glitch.....................
elvis christ 451
I put a spare ATI on my .308, and hated it. I got a choate (on Will's recommendation), and it's fucking awesome. I think I turned my s.308 into my favorite gun with that stock. I don't really see the need for the cheek pad, to tell you the truth. Everything lines up great as it is. I didn't have to do any kind of modification to the stock. It bolted right up, was a little tight, but I just forced it on and ran in the screws. Gunny, I love the venting on your handguard. cma g21 3
Another vote for the Choate. I had an ATI and sold it. I have Choates on two .308's and one .223.
vbrtrmn 167
I put the Choate on my S12, also had to do a bit of work with the Dremmel.
