THE_HUNTER 2
Who has one or shot one? How accurate are they? I am looking into one as an up close rabbit/grouse popper for my pocket. Thoughts?
Gaddis 1,689
Well, as a owner of a .22 LR mini version. Maybe if the rabbit/grouse sits still long enough for you to jam it into their eye-socket first before pulling the trigger. If I had the choice between a brick and a NAA mini revolver for hunting either... Seriously, fun gun to shoot, but the sights on it suck.
termite 463
I carry the little 22 mag in my front pocket, like said before, fun to shoot, BUT.....Why not just buy you a Taurus Judge 45/410. I bought the wife one to carry. Now that gun is FUN to shoot. :)
joelrod47 373
I have 2 of the NA .22 Mag minis.........Have both cylinders for both, .22LR & .22 Mag............. One is the standard tiny one, and the other is a "Black Widow"....2" barrel and an enlarged grip..... Either of them is good for what it is............a belly gun. Good to take when you can't carry anything else......... Edited April 8, 2009 by Jeaux E
THE_HUNTER 2
Wow I guess they can hit out at 100 feet!
joelrod47 373
NAA actually makes the Mini-Mag revolvers in 4" and 6" barrels, too......... The Black Widow (2") will hit at any range you can hit with any other 2"-barrelled handgun......... An effective deterrent, too......... THE_HUNTER 2
How accurate is it with the .22long rifle cylinder installed? I know the barrel s wider diameter inside so the .22magnum can be used. My Ruger Single Six is ok with long rifle, but dead accurate with magnums.
joelrod47 373
I really can't comment on the .22LR accuracy............ Truth be told, I've never run any .22LR through either of mine.............
THE_HUNTER 2
I just got back from the local fun shop looking at the minis. They seem real interesting but just had the midgets and no Black Widow. Neat set up for a little gun.
Twinsen 86
I'd advise looking for a High Standard Derringer. They're double action, and therefore better than any other derringer. Two shots, bang bang. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults...words=derringer
elvis christ 451
My mom's been carrying one of those High Standard .22mag derringers for years, even though my granddad had bought her a S&W .38 about 15 years ago. She's actually a pretty good shot with it, truth be told.

Two shots, bang bang. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults...words=derringer I actually own one of the High Standard derringers...........Although, it's about twice the size of the Black Widow, and carries 3 less rounds......... All of the old High Standard .22's were great........Sport Kings, Field Kings.......... managed to pick up 5 of them in prime condition over the years.................... THE_HUNTER 2
I have a High Standard Model 10B Bullpup 12 gauge made around 1975. Wow that thing is still ahead of its time! Oh, I do have a .38special derringer I picked up by Excam that has never given me trouble ever. Goes boom every time and throws out an ok accuracy larger round. The sights are a joke though. Hitting a bunny with that is like farting in the wind...
joelrod47 373
............all of mine are the old ones, made in East Hamden, CT, back in the Forties...............
THE_HUNTER 2
Stopped by Gander Mountain and was told they do not even carry NAA mini-revolvers! Guess I'll have to wait for a gun show....
joelrod47 373
Go by your favorite fun shop and just have them order you one............. NAA site will give you ballpark prices as to what you can expect to pay, more or less.......... I had to have my Black Widow ordered in.............
THE_HUNTER 2
Last fun show I saw them there.....didn't look at them other than in the case. I want it in my hand before I decide yes or no.......need to save money actually but with the Osama presidency this might be better to get and hold on to than cash. superA 289
Local shop stocks them all the time. I do kinda want one for snow skiing.
THE_HUNTER 2
One local shop says they can't get them and they are a big operation with 3 stores plus a range. Availability at this point is the key.....

THE_HUNTER 2
Well I want to handle it before I buy it. I know the next show is in a month and the dealers have them there. I am thinking about going with that.
THE_HUNTER 2
Wow its official that no gun shop in my area carries the Widow and they can't even get them now, like most everything else now......
joelrod47 373
Well, that sucks.................
BronCobraJet 80
I've got a NAA .22 LR, and I would reccomend to get the fold up plastic case that replaces the grips. It folds up and looks kind of like a pager. When you unfold it, the case becomes a pretty good size grip that makes holding the pistol a LOT easier. I had to order a new mainspring for mine. I took it to my gunsmith and he said it was pretty rare for them to break actually. Like Gaddis said, you'd better make sure the varmint stays "Veewwy Qwuiet".lol. It's made for a small back up pistol - not hunting IMHO. The fold up plastic case also has a clip for attatching it to your boot, belt, pocket etc. http://www.naaminis.com/lr_custcry.html Also, I would think about getting the Magnum because you can change cyl. and barrels (have to send to the factory) but the .22 LR fit the grip/holster plastic thing better.
