longhorn 81
Does anyone know if the front bead sight is threaded on or pushed in? If threaded, what size threads?
kresk 10,063
Believe they are threaded and Tony Rumore has posted the thread size somewhere in the past. One of the business members who does conversions will hopefully know that info.
hobbyshooter 59
I just filed the bead off of mine.
3ac6ucb 24
Mine appeared to be riveted, and somewhat poorly. It actually popped out the first time I shot the gun. No big deal since I run Krebs sights -- I just welded the hole up and dressed it smooth.
G O B 3,516
Older ones are threaded, newer ones are swaged. I just unscrewd mine and put it away (older model) when I put the Russian front sights on. No need to do anything about the hole, it does not create a gas leak. shades_of_grey 1,092
I just filed the bead off of mine. I filed mine most of the way down.. leaving a stump that'll help me re-align my Krebs fsb should it ever become canted. It hasn't moved a mm yet though, which is pretty impressive for a bolt-on fsb. The Krebs sight system is the best iron sight system for the Saiga 12 IMO. The HK sights are nice but I find the tighter sight picture of the Krebs ring works great at busting clay.
