Cobra 76 two 2,677
I know someone posted something once about how to get rid of that chalky look after sanding the factory HGs or stocks. I couldn't find it doing a search. Any ideas? I thought about maybe using some of that Krylon fusion paint but last time I used I was not impressed. It would be nice if I could just get rid of the chalky look and leave the plastic bare.
thehopping1 105
Maybe use a little heat. Heat gun would probably do it, maybe an oven on kind of a low temp. I think I read some where that some one used a regular black permanent marker, but they always seem to have a red tint when I use them.
tsc91 9
Give it a hot bath it RIT fabric dye. I heard of guys using it on OD stocks to dye them black.
paprotective 362
I second the DYE thing. Alot of modeler's use it supposedly well. My fusion paint experiance left a gloss even though it was satin.. I have since thrown out the parts.. Satin River Rock #2423 matched my Dark Earth pretty good. If you can find a FLAT version of SLATE BLACK or FLAT BLACK that may work. Glad to see you on here. Al
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Hmmm the dye sounds like a good idea. I'll see if they have any black at my local groc. store. Thanks.
