jimdigriz 580
https://s3.amazonaws.com/savagefiles/savage_catalog_current.pdf Interesting! And tempting! I don't have a scoped bolt gun yet. Maybe this will be my first. Please let it be affordable...

DrThunder88 912
If it's a Savage, it's bound to be priced right. What's even better is that, if it catches on, we could also see domestic and non-Russian ammunition manufacturers start to broaden their ranges to include the 5.45x39mm. The only downside I see is extending the "5.45 vs 5.56" debate on message boards!
blkgunlvr 31
Sweet! I bought a Remington "mini-mauser" in 7.62x39 and I'd love to have that bottom black one in 5.45x39!
bolster 15
Awesome! Now we just need to figure out how to modify it to accept AK-74 mags.
frick 3
Can you say 7N6 for in it? I just happen to have a few thousand set aside for just THAT beast.
Azrial 1,091
Well this should really satisfy the debate of just what kind of groups can be had with MIlsup 5.45x39mm! If a good Savage Bolt Rifle will not group sub 2MOA with it, no AK on the planet will either! I believe that Remington used to make the 788 in 7.62x39mm.
blkgunlvr 31
Don't get too excited, Boys. I've been looking for one of these and they don't appear to exist anywhere - including the Savage website. My gun dealers have been calling all over and no one has heard of this caliber option for the Savage 25. I think there was some miscommunication - I've done some surfing on the 'net and I can't seem to find the 5.45x39 as a caliber option for the Model 25 Walking Varminter anywhere: http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/25WV

My gun dealers have been calling all over and no one has heard of this caliber option for the Savage 25. It's in their official 2011 catalog that I downloaded from their site. That's where I got the picture at this top of this thread. I suspect that it just hasn't come out yet, and this is why your gun dealers can't find anything.

YARP 300
All you need is a barrel made. It's a Savage, I change my short action on a regular basis. Even if it's not listed in this list o' company's, ask, they can make it. http://www.pac-nor.com/prefit/ http://www.mcgowenbarrel.com/catalog4.htm http://www.shilen.com/savageBarrels.html http://www.4-dproducts.com/savage-new.php
