Also, in addition to barrel length and such, any factory differences, like differing stock color and camoflauge metal and stocks gas system changes, ETC.

Also, any data one whats been seen, aswell as owned would be good to.

EDIT and I just noticed there is no multi choice poll :cryss: I messed this up...

started with saigas back in 1999.

saiga 12----x1

20----x1

308---x1

x39---x2

will have a 223 one day.

most likely not going to get 410 due to ammo expense, rarity of mags, ammo finicky.

will definately get a 30'06 and x54r if they ever show up!

I ran across the Saigas when I was looking for an affordable deer rifle. I have an unmodified 22" .308 model with the wood stocks. After that and finding this forum I bought a 7.62x39 and converted it to pistol grip. I have since fully converted it to AK-103 style. I also got the bug for a S-12 and bought a 19" model with the screw chokes. I converted it to pistol grip. It was good to have for the coolness factor but I sold it because I had no practicle use for it. I put a full choke on it and still couldn't hit skeet very well (I guess because of the short barrel). I wish I hadn't sold it but I'm trying to get me an AR. :killer: If I happen to run across a .223 saiga somewhere I will probably own it too if the price is right.

Oh boy did someone say Saiga porn!?

This is my 1st Saiga I got back in 98'. It is a 94' model S-410.

Imported by Kalashnikov USA before EAA stepped in and messed things up.

It has the long barrel (20 1/8") and factory threads. No BHO or 1-2 gas system adjustment. The factory sights are the solid rib style with only a bead at the front of the rib. Also it has the "extra full" choke with holes around the outside'

Still one of my favorites.

Then I discovered the S-12! Everyone needs at least one of these babies!

The top 2 are 22" full choked models, the second one factory camo.

The bottom 2 are 19" factory threaded models that I converted back to the right configuration. The bottom one is of course my favorite and was also imported by K USA in 2000' and then somehow EAA got there grubby paws on it and overstamped the K USA stamp and added their own. I also found it interesting that the K USA one was imported with the F(1.0) stamp meaning full choke and either K USA or EAA crossed out that stamp and then put "12 x 76 18,3" over it. The other 19" is an 04' model and has this same stamp. I'm sure the first part means 12 guage x 76mm. Not sure what 18,3 means on a 19" bbl gun? Anyone know?

OK one more. I finally added some rifles to the collection. 1st a 7.62x 39 and then the .223. I'm still working on finishing the conversions on these. Now all I need is a .308 and a 20 guage and I'll be set!

:super:
