Crusader 64
Has anyone thought of a Red-Mag concept for a Saiga 12 magwell? Perhaps a generic design that can accept PROMAGs, AGP, and Surefire mags. Immagine the possibilities. See link for the AR15 design http://www.redi-mag.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=5 Edited August 25, 2011 by Crusader
corbin 621
Not sure how you'd get it to stay in place. It would definitely add some weight though with another loaded mag.
lbsrdi 1,078
A while back I thought about making something to mount a 5 round mag to a rail. I like both ideas, it would be nice to know you had a backup mag.
MT Predator 2,294
Thing is, the Redi-mag made for ARs is efficient because the weapon's mag release also releases the spare mag so a mag change is quick provided you allow the empty one to drop free. It would be a whole different procedure with a rock and lock weapon. Not sure if the added weight versus the speed of the mag change is worth it.
20nickels 21
Once I change stocks I'll be attatching my spare to the right side. Molle or something.
BpS12 512
It could be done with a double mag release. You'd have to set it up so that when you squeezed and released the spare, the used would drop. Arms reaching over to the double mag release on the rifle would do it. This is fine for holding a position or if you have the support/money of the American people buying you more mags. But if you're running and gunning, dropping your mags means you may not have them to reload later. Fire to cover, Reload(dropping used mags in a dump pouch), Fire from cover, Repeat as necessary. I really don't get why people don't get that. Too much damn TV I guess.
