irishincali 0
Howdy all, new to the forum. I'm bout to go purchase a Saiga 7.62x39 tomorrow. I was wondering if anybody knew what was the best low profile side mount is for this bad boy. Wanna order and have it so after my waiting period I can slap it on. Also, what a good scope for it also. Thanks in advance for all yer help.
GregM1 241
depends on how low you want. if you want to co-witness, go ultimak with primary arms micro dot (aimpoint clone) if you want to use the side rail, the BP-02 low profile is awesome. there are several other well made low profile mounts available too. dieb4iwake 60
RS AKM is the best
irishincali 0
By co-witness do you mean that the iron sites and the scope are zeroed together? And where does the ultimac mount? Also bein here in Cali. where can I pick up 10rd. mags for a decent price? Thanks Edited January 27, 2012 by irishincali
GregM1 241
the ultimak replaces your gas tube. i think classic arms has the mags cheapest at the current time.
Bullseye57 0
Been looking at this one for a while, no GT change out or other mods required if you're thinkin' an optics mount. http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=
Sim_Player 1,939
$100 is a bit pricey for that type clamp-on, isn't it? I know I've seen them for $25 at ClassicArms. Hey, as long as it holds zero....

It sits very low. So low that it must be removed for cleaning. Normally it that might be a problem, but the mount re-attaches without loosing zero.
hutchsaiga 93
I have a bp02 sidemount that a really like. It's kinda heavy. But rock solid. Best price I found with shipping was at primaryarms. C o m
Lone Eagle 839
I bought a BP-02 from Kalinka Optics, and it's rock solid. I have an Aimpoint knock-off on the way as we speak. Figured the AK will be for short-range work, and my 6.8 SPC AR for the long range stuff if needed.
irishincali 0
which one do you all think is the best bang for the buck? both mount and optic? I think I would prefer closer to my eye then out on the gas tube. I'm on a budget but want things workin right. I do appreciate all you guys input. GregM1 241
the best red dot i found for the price, IMO, is the primary arms micro dot. it sits great on my bp-02. i found my mount on gunbroker for cheap and my primary arms on this forums trader. both for 100$. if buying new, both might be around 140$ i like the looks of the MI mount. that sits lower than any other side mount i have seen. wnycollector 4
I have the TRS-25 on my MI rail. Like hutchsaiga, I picked mine up at Cabelas for $70 and it's been fantastic.
GregM1 241
i just saw a vid with the new RS AKML mount. its the same mount with a rail instead of a ring. looks pretty good.
ViperHummel 3
Take a gander at aim surplus. They have the RS AKM mount with a Vortex strikefire for only $250.
Horse 39
i just saw a vid with the new RS AKML mount. its the same mount with a rail instead of a ring. looks pretty good. It's a dedicated Aimpoint T1 style mount base. This is the only way to get it low enough to cowitness, yet keep it out of the way to be able to completely field strip the rifle.
