Looks good, but you should cover those windows with clear plastic. Debris could make your magazine jam up.

 

Cobra 762 did a lovely job of this with an Izzy 8.

 

Maybe pick up a spare lens to a faceshield at an industrial supply . cut out the strips with tin-snips and glue in place.

Or take the mag apart every so often and clean it!

Where I used to shoot it was dusty and sandy, there was enough crosswind that it is conceivable in a day of shooting. It wouldn't take much to eliminate the potential problem entirely.

 

He has already shown that he can do nice looking work, so to finish it up is within his range of skill.

 

OP-- Did you freehand it, use a mill, or cut with a template?
