im_n2_vws 28
Where did that wood come from? I think I would like that on my MAK 90. Edited April 4, 2012 by im_n2_vws
shades_of_grey 1,092
That looks like Ironwood furniture. It's high-quality and US-made. I've got an extremely similar set, (blonde Ironwood), that I'd like to sell. PM me if interested. To the OP, congrats on the new rifle. You do know that you need more than just new furniture to "convert" her, right?
gunfun 3,931
he also needs 40 minutes.

shades_of_grey 1,092
he also needs 40 minutes. And a US-made AK triggergroup, at the least. He'll need a bullet guide as well if he wants to use proper AK mags.
dayofruin 425
That wood will look great on there! Very nice! Take your time and the conversion will go easy and turn out well. Polak 10
I've done a conversion to my 5.45 before...I know what I need besides the wood...LOL That looks like Ironwood furniture. shades_of_grey 1,092
Gotcha. We get a fair number of people here who want to "convert", but are confused on the required parts, so I was just makin sure. Here's a pic of the furniture I have to sell, on a S-308: The set is finished with boiled linseed oil. I had one other forum member PM me about it last night, but if that deal doesn't go through, (haven't heard back from him yet), it'll still be available. Shankspony 40
Congrats! I love mine... I put black wood on it. If you haven't done this before... as I had not... You'll probably need a upper hand guard spring (or shim as I made) to fit properly on the gas tube. The composite/plastic upper is shimmed with a plastic crossmember. Polak 10
Here she is, although not quite done. I'm still waiting for the FCG, pistol grip screw and muzzle brake. I'll get much better quality pictures after I'm completely finished. Edited April 11, 2012 by Polak

Mr.BlahX3 12
So is this the Ironwood furniture or is it the Timbersmith set?
Stacks 42
Be sure to annihilate the inhibitor paper before you accidentally wrap your lunch in it. Also, the wood looks great on it. Can't wait to see it finished.

Shankspony 40
Here she is next to my 5.45. Ah... That's the stuff! Good looking wood. My lower handguard (Timbersmith) has a touch of shift, but I'll shim it in time.
