Aust 10
I recently bought the Factory Saiga 12 LRBHO kit from RusMil I was wondering if anyone could post any pics of how this kit is installed as it didn't come with any instructions
lelandeod 179
Really? This is interesting! Can you post photos???
rs51085 136
Do they still have these kits for sale? I couldn't find it on there website. Sorry don't have any info on install.
lelandeod 179
They're sold out from what I saw. Too bad because I'd love to add one to the Tromix S-17 that I'm installing a russian mag well on. I'd still love to see pics!!!
evlblkwpnz 3,418
I'm pretty sure they are the same as the VEPR 12 LRBHO. I may tear down one of mine soon and post pics somewhere, along with some other info.
Bigchris 31
I went look for it also and it was sold out....
lelandeod 179
Well, hopefully we're not just talking about the lever and plunger assembly. I had it in my mind that Rus Mil was selling the whole shebang... including the receiver block/mag release bit. OP, please post pics when you are able!
topmaul 42
Please post pix!

lelandeod 179
That's going to be a challenge. I am not sure how you are going to make that work without the receiver center support that is made especially for the LRBHO components. Kind of bummed out that they didn't sell it as a complete retrofit kit.
Aust 10
Post up some pics please
HillBilly2 9
A couple of pics a guy in Russia sent me that may help, but I also think the center support would be needed to make it work. Edit to add a couple of a little better pics. Edited November 22, 2012 by HillBilly2
evlblkwpnz 3,418
A little material needs to be added to the center support and then fitted to prevent rotation of the plunger when it is in the raised position. Obviously, a hole needs to be milled as well. It looks like it may take about .75 shop hour or less with the right equipment. Not a big deal. ETA: A short section of tubing may need to be tacked between the bottom of the support and the receiver. I have to get a better look at how what the spring is resting against. I may copy the parts in my V12 and do the install on one of my S12s. Edited November 23, 2012 by evlblkwpnz

Aust 10
Does anyone have a drawing or dimensions of a receiver centre support tube? I can get one machined down to suit and either screw fit or silver solder it in place
Aust 10
Anyone? I don't want to start fettling until I'm better informed Does anyone have some better close up pics?
pedal2alloy 206
Best thing would be to find somebody who has a factory gun, and duplicate the part like evlblkwpnz said above. Maybe contact him?
Aust 10
I've managed to mill a section out the receiver where the OEM bho goes, I've got some 7mm ID tube ordered to go into the receiver to support the spring and plunger. Was wondering how the hawks beak actually holds the bolt back ? I see on my vepr 12 mag where it touches the nose of the beak to lift it up when empty but how does it hold the bolt open? The the top of the plunger has a slot in the right side of it. That engages with the trip lever to lift it up and down
pedal2alloy 206
Has anyone installed one of these?
Aust 10
I installed it and it works great If your not confident in drilling and filing your receiver get a good gunsmith to do it
