Trappnguns 1
Picked up an MKA the other day... I just got the gas bushing in the mail. Do I also need to get the reduced power spring in order to shoot the cheapo wally world bulk packs?
AR-12 Shotgun 16
No. You just need to break it in. Couple hundred cheap shells. Heavier loads will get it done quicker.
Trappnguns 1
I've put about hundred so far. They were all single shot except the 10 rounds of buck. Guess I might have to try it out tomorrow!!
Redhunter2486 22
mine would run the reg birdshot w/o any mods, with just the spring it can run the light rcoil and the bulk pack, i noticed much less ftf with the reduced recoil spring also
Madwand 2
Wish I'd seen all this "break-in" info before I wasted money on a spring and spacer day before yesterday. Mine is shooting light clay loads perfectly after the second magazine. The only thing it has trouble with right now are some low recoil buckshot we use at work. toothandnail 275
We tested our new drive block yesterday, new never fired gun, only change was the drive block. Took 63 rounds of the walmart bulk pak ammo ,to run reliably.
Trappnguns 1
I must have stiff springs on mine then... The first time out putting about 100 rounds through it only twice would actually reload itself. Thats why I got the bushing! Hopefully I can get out today...
Haycock 9
I put over 150 rounds through mine and i still had problems so i got a bushing and it is fine now. now i just need to figure out the light primer strikes, wich i think i fixed. just need to go shoot it. Im probly going to shoot a few hundred more rounds then try it without the spacer and see how it does. Edited January 20, 2013 by Haycock
Trappnguns 1
I think I have read evry single thread and post on here. I think The primer strike can be fixed with a new spring. Forgot which one though...
KIRCH76 12
Hey matt is the foward charging handle version coming with the same upgraded drive block??
Trappnguns 1
Well, that was fun. The 1250 fps rounds shot like a dream. Still a few issues with the 1200 fps, but overall much better. Another 55 rounds down the tube... I have some old mags and some newer ones. The older ones have the straight follower with the longer spring and the newer have the angled follower with the shorter spring. I have the Salem 6 extensions on the old mags. The last round didn't want to feed right. I think a bit of stretching the spring a bit and switching to the new follower will do the trick. My mags did need a bit of filing to get the shells through the bottom.
