coronet 131
Did 2 conversions today. My very first S-12, a couple years back, was simple. No issues. Today, my second conversion sucked bad. Everything that could go wrong did. Had to retap holes in the aluminum trigger guard, Had to take apart a couple of times to modify the folding stock mount, for SOME reason, the safety selector did NOT want to go in the hole. I fought that bastard for hours on different occaisions. Took me around 6 stinking hours to complete! lol. My third conversion - took me about 15 minutes to assemble. Everything fell into place. No issues with anything. I was stunned. I still have to take them apart for painting someday. Don't know if I will do the 2nd one again. I really started to hate it, after a few hours. I'm having a victory beer now.

coronet 131
Oh, believe me, I took my time. I didn't walk away from it, I kept at it. But patience WAS a virtue! And I only cussed once or twice and didn't shed very much blood. I happen to believe that you don't really own any vehicle or fire arm unless you have personally shed blood from it. The second conversion did manage to get a little blood out of me.

LuPiN8oR 333
^agreed wholeheartedly. I was having a hell of a time with my s-308 conversion and put it down for a minute and killed 3 beers. Went back to it and everything fell into place in a startling amount of time!
storm6490 2,768
Practice makes perfect! If somethign is bugging you, put it down and go work on something else. I find that most of the time it's my state of mind if I get frustrated with something mechanical or electrical. A good rest on the brain is good for you and the device. Almost always, I go back to the task and complete it without the cloud of frustration. Good luck to you!
scoutjoe 276
Step 1: Put it down Step 2: Go have a beer (slowly, no shotguning) Step 3: Return to defeat the offending hunk of metal.
