HK Shooter 0
Hi, I have a ETac Saiga 8" SBS and after a few years, I find the barrel too short to use in shotgun matches. I found and it looks like I can get a nice 12" barrel from them. Is there anything I need to watch out for when installing a new longer barrel? Gas Ports, Pistons, barrel? Let me know if you also can recommend a good smith to do the job. Thanks, Edited April 25, 2013 by Juggernaut Removed Non Vendor link as per rule 1c
Sdustin 578
ATF paper work. Also I think most 12 barrels use a standard gas length you you may have some issues there with in possibley being over gassed.
bobabuee 29
were are you located for gunsmith wise? Edited April 24, 2013 by bobabuee
HK Shooter 0
I am in PA, but can obviously ship the gun to a good smith. For the ATF, I only have to send them a letter informing them I changed the length from 8" to 12". Trying so see if R&R or Tac47 can do the work.

scoutjoe 276
You could always talk to Tom Cole over at Cadiz gun works in Ohio. Not sure what corner of the state you are in.
HK Shooter 0
I was just wondering what in the piston/gas system would have to change with a longer barrel?
romad7 75
I was just wondering what in the piston/gas system would have to change with a longer barrel? Shouldn't need any changes. Longer barrel will just make things better for the gas.
Eric Pate 478
IIRC, Tom Cole (Cadiz Gun Works) made a thread-on barrel extension for S12 a while back. Maybe him or someone else could set you up with something similar? Advantages would be cost, reversibility, and I don't think a temporary change would require you to update your ATF papers.
