saltydecimator 482 Posted February 1, 2017 Report Share Posted February 1, 2017 Anyone known what mag has biggest inner area with no taper at the front for me to use for a big bore project? m agpuls , Troy and lancer all taper at front. Thermold kinda right but ribs are recesses like an aluminum mag so I can't file them out and use em...6.8 mags getting better as the ribs are not so deep, but still too pronounced Any ideas? saltydecimator 482 Posted February 16, 2017 Author Report Share Posted February 16, 2017 looks like the mags will fit without a rimmed cartridge... oh well... may just have to make a metal( steel or Ti) mag with thinner walls... like the proto i made outta Al 20-30 thou up top.... looks to be 12 rds in a 50 rd length, and 8 ish in the 35 round.... thanks for the heas up folks!! BlackHeart762 288 Posted February 16, 2017 Report Share Posted February 16, 2017 A 20ga rim is about the same diameter as the OD of an AR15 bolt face (including the locking lugs). An AR15 barrel extension has no extra material in its fixed diameter to accommodate any locking surface that could accept a 20ga shell. What you are trying to do, can and has been done in the AR10 platform. With out a complete redesign of the AR15 upper, it doesn't work. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Only to 40 rds, will prob try them this weekend wow, what a deal i bet in a while just the ammo will bring that BH Weeeeeeeeeeell, talked to an engineer on project via email while ago that the intellectual property ownership has been hashed out so perhaps we will see some.progress with it again, ie cheap ammo/bigger mags/customer service?
