  1. If there were no such thing as a Saiga S-12, what semi-automatic shotgun would you own? And, what pump shotgun would you own? I think I'd have an FN SLP semi auto and for a pump, I'd want a Vang Comp Remington 870.
  2. My 7.62 has a "y" stamped into the left side of the receiver. What does that mean? I thought this topic had been covered some time ago, but the search feature was not much help.
  3. When I opened the box on the new one I just bought it was pretty scratched and marred up. It is a new 08 model, but the finish looks like Ivan's kid did it with a crayon. Sloth
  4. I have been offered a new S-12 for $550.00. I will probably take it. Sloth
  5. Is this the same basic rifle? The information says "Steyr technology cold hammer forged chrome lined barrel." Does adding the word "technology" equal saying it is like a steyr barrel or similar to a steyr barrel using similar technology? Like a knock off brand of barrel? http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programmin....asp?Prodid=422
  6. Someone posted about the S-12 that sold on gunbroker for over $2,700.00. They suggested that the high bid might be a sham. What do you think? Do you think sham bidding happens a lot on gunbroker? Do you think guys have their buddies or friends bid up an item, or that the seller registers under a different name and bids up his or her own item? I just wonder how "fair" gunbroker really is. Sloth
  7. I like watching the UFC, but I agree with Chevymann. Any organization based out of Las Vegas and so closely tied with betting makes me suspicious. I think the sport started out "pure" but now I have my doubts, which is a shame.
  8. Waiting on a Saiga can be very slothful. Patience is urged. Sloth
  9. I agree that some type of 'cash' value item to barter is important. While gold and silver are great, I would think the MREs would be of high value to anyone and everyone in a long term SHTF situation. Can't eat coins. I just have to wonder though, where is everyone going to go? In a true crises situation, won't the highways and roads be either clogged or a great place for bad guys to prey on the unprepared? Sloth
