  1. Thank you. I can get around the RP, but the bullet guide is essential. Just being anxious. your saiga did not come with a factory magazine? while it might not be a mil surp 30.. you should be able to use the factory mag?
  2. did this a while back to try to explain the answer to your question..
  3. Sure you can. Got 5 or ten minutes a cutting tool and a pencil? Take out floor plate trace on scrap of metal < 5/32". Cut. punch Drill detent hole. Done. this post is epic for so many reasons..
  4. as cold.. and as boring.. and as impersonal as a gift card is.. he is a guy.. and guys are logical... give him a gift card to a saiga specific store like carolina shooter supply.. it tells him that you want him to have EXACTLY what he wants.. instead of having to pretend that you hit it on the head..
  5. you are totally entitled to your opinion one way or another.. just didn't seem like the time and place.. you know.. someone has invested a lot of money in a gun.. and having it not work out is really frustrating.. no harm done.. was just saying..
  6. a member posts a legitimate technical question and you post that tired old bullshit.. nice.. to the OP... you saved the old trunion.. so no real problem.. just reinstall it.. as pointed out.. no need to weld it.. just rivet it... if you can't there are likely individuals who can.. you might need to think outside the box and look for a metal fabricator VS a gunsmith.. riveting a trunion is not reinventing the wheel... a far simpler solution would be to just sell that stock and use a normal AR stock? I have a Magpul CTR on my Saigas and love it.. nice and light.. adjustable for diffe
  7. when you tap it go really slow.. countless people have broken taps off in the gun.. just did mine.. went fairly easily..
  8. thanks.. really happy with it overall.. just need to get it out and shoot it.. lol
  9. nope my friend who does a lot of car related fabrication took care of it for me..
  10. they are great... have not shot with them yet.... but I would say they are likely far more precision than anything a shotgun will ever call for.. but they were not super expensive.. and appear to be quality.. so good to go in my book..
  11. really surprised but this seems just fine.. as long as it cycles during live fire as well and it hand cycles... there will be no complaints from me.. thanks
  12. ha thanks.. it is at families house in PA where I stay.. I have my gun safe there.. it is promag.. at first... I was not sure because I heard horror stories with OTHER promag magazines.. have not had it out to shoot yet so not sure how it feeds... function checked it by hand cycling and seems fine.. fit without issue.. size is great.. it is nice and small..

  15. finally got started.. cut and shaped Arsenal rail (too big and bulky) and had my friend weld teh HK sights.. is painted.. is drying now.. picture is pre paint..
  16. visually it would be hard to tell.. hell there is a company that makes airsoft grade DD rail systems.. and they are even marked DD.. visually I am not sure I could pick it out.. but as I said to you via PM.. I can not tell you how many times I have heard the following.. "I got this cheap scope mount off of ebay and my scope won't hold zero" "I got this airsoft grip and it broke in half" "I got this aimpoint clone and the lense fell out" "I bought this cheap rail and the mounting screws stripped out" so because of that.. as i was saying.. even if the project cost more.. and thus takes
  17. your situation is obviously one I can not relate to and I apologize for the "mall ninja" comment.. I have nothing but respect for the military.. I stand by the standpoint that it is unsafe to use components like that on critical areas.. especially areas that partially control the gun.. but again.. no personal offense intended.. and my apologies for any comments that were of a personal nature..
  18. your service has no bearing on my opinion of what you are stating here.. to be clear.. I appreciate what you or ANYONE In the armed forces do.. but I am explaining to you that it seems unsafe based on everything I have read on this forum and others.... and stand by that opinion.. without any disrespect intended towards you personally..
  19. I share my knowledge so that you don't get someone to do something I find unsafe.. while you might just be in your yard.. there are many other people reading this forum.. if one of them listens to you.. well lets just say.. it could be a problem.. the point is.. if you are not trying to be a "mall ninja" why even have a "grip pod" on a Saiga 12.. is a semi automatic shotgun something that really needs a bipod.. think about it.. when things break on your gun WHILE you are shooting.. it creates a whole new world of dangerous variables..
  20. very true sir well then you are the exception because as others will tell you. "my cheap XXX fell apart today" is a fairly common thread topic here and elsewhere.. if you want to take items designed to play a game.. and rely on them to perform on a weapon.. then by all means go for it.. but I would let the people at the range next to you know what is going on so they can give you some space.. a couple hundred rounds is your benchmark for reliability test? yeah.. I am sure your airsoft stuff will perform just fine.. now just to be clear.. I am no jerk off elitist gun snob.. b
  21. let me save you the trouble.. I have read a million posts like these on this forum and others..\ FIVE SHOTS and it was in pieces.. Ok you can calm down bro.....i wanted to see for myself. I agree with you about the optics but when it comes to the ladders, clips, grippod, and MBUS i dont see the difference. Ive compared real to clone and with those they seem to be the same quality for a fraction of the cost. well when the airsoft "grippod" decides to take a shit while you are shooting your S12... and you lose control of the weapon and randomly spray off an extra 4
  22. ALL will look and work well out of the door.. after a bunch of 12 gauge through it.. be prepared to pick pieces up off the ground... might work on a 22.. but put it on anything with recoil.. or anything you are actually going to use in a hard use situation.. I can NOT COUNT the amount of people who have bought crap and then cried about it.. know how many people I have ever heard who bought a real aimpoint and were disappointed? ZERO.. i would never use stuff made to play a game on real weapons.. they are designed for a game.. let me save you the trouble.. I have read
  23. can you work a drill? don't get me wrong.. if you are doing something elaborate (short barrel shotgun) or something like that.. that requires moving the gas system.. then yeah.. I think a reputable smith IS the way to go...but for a simple restoration (putting a pistol grip on it) you should be able to easily do it (with the help of this forum) providing of course you can use a drill.. and own a handful of hand tools..
