The only way around the SBR for the AMD is if you build it on a Virgian reciver that has never had a butstock attached to it. Then it will be considered a pistol. You can get one from Ohio Ordinince.

TAPCO isn't a couple guys sitting behind a computer. They are a pretty well run orginazation in the biz of shipping in gun parts from all over the world- so, the Form 6 is pretty moot- and as far as shipping costs, when you are spreading it across 500 or 600 or 1000 magazines, it gets pretty minimal. No I ment an individual buying form TOPCO vs. importind directly from overseas. I am sure that it is no problem for them to take care of the importing legalities.

You have a point but you also have to factor in the overseas shipping, the wait, and the $100 limit before you have to file form 6

You can look at the reciever and tell that it is not commercial Saiga it has dimples over the mag well. I wonder what they did to try and accuraize it? Also Ithought that EAA was supposed to be importing the 30.06 and 7.62x54R.

If they do get the 8rd mags they most likely sell the for $80 plus because they will be the only game in town and since the only alternative is going to be ordering them from overseas they will be sure to get your business. Another thing that we have to rember is that we are dealing with new mags here. The cost to manufacture an AK-47 mag was mostly supplemented by the government that made it. And the price that you would pay for new a AK mags would be much higher if they were not cold war surplus.

So have you actually seen them because I am hearing two different things. I would still like to know if anyone has a pic or a link other then EAA.

What do you mean they don't exist? that they are not in the U.S. or that the are still on the drawing board?

I never thought about the Saiga in these calibers this seem alot more cost effective then the $600+ PLO. Where do you guy think that the accuracy of these rifles will be anywhere near a Drag or a Tiger?

Thanks for the reply I will get the pics of the problem today or tomorrow. I noticed that about the mags having the notches where the lip of the shell locks into place in the mag. When I insert the mag with the bolt closed it will lock into place. When I release the charging handle or bush it foward it get hung up no the back of the shell. Now the only way I can get it to feed is if I pull the bolt backward alittle and push down and foward on the shell while the mag is in the reciever is in the.

Hey I am new to the forum and would like to introduce my self. I am new to the saiga 12ga but not to AK's or firearms. I am a regular at ak47.net and just picked up my first saiga today and have some questions. There does not seem to be a bolt hold open on mine does anyone have a pic and is there any way to retrofit one one it ? I am having a real problem getting it to feed properly. The bolt will not push the round out of the 5rd mag in to the chamber no matter how hard I pull or push the bolt. I can't even manually cycle the thing do you guys think that is the mag or something that
