I got a 223 in late July or early August and I like it, haven't had any problems, and it's accurate. But I also agree with the others on the 5.45, ammo is still cheap, I would have gotten one of these but I already had a few thousand rounds of 223 and everything to reload it.

Low quality too, I got a couple, they're alright but I wouldn't buy any more. I got one of these on an AK and it's low, you can take off the top cover but it hits the mount, put some scratches in the top cover. It's an AK under folder, looks like a Yugo to me.

Thanks for the review and pics, I've been thinking of getting one or two of these.

I haven't tested this but I want to give my $.02 from my experience with AKs. The only way I could see this happening is if the red dot is mounted at the front of the tube near the piston head & gas block, this is the only area of the gas tube I've noticed that get's hot, the hot gas is bled off at the gas block or front area of the tube. Now the only other way it could happen is if you got a really cheap red dot.

Thanks for the answers I guess I got lucky, I used that Federal bulk pack stuff from Wally World and it worked fine from round one. With the cowboy stuff, it was only 5 rnds but it still work.

Nope I placed an order around the 6th of July and only did the deposit, the balanced was paid on the 16th or 17th and I was told mine would be in the August 15th shipment. So I'm guessing yours will ship next month

Hello and first I want to thank every for the great info and pics for us noobs. I'm getting ready to convert my S-12 and I was planning to do a 12C clone, well mainly the folder. Well since the original stocks are so hard to come by I got one of the copies from K-Var for the AKs, http://www.k-var.com/shop/downloads/fs_flyer.pdf , it seems to be a well made stock but I have one concern, the part that the hing pin goes through is also plastic. So are the original 12C stock like this or is the hing area metal on those? I've looked through all the threads I could find on the 12C and clon
