  1. Two people do not an epidemic make. I'm not worried. I'm quietly preparing for the worst, but I certainly don't expect it. The worst-case scenario I see is a series of minor outbreaks that cause a fraction of a fraction of the damage (both social and economic) caused by people panicking. I'd have to agree with you 100% that 2 people don't make an epidemic. So for the sake of discussion, at what number of infected people would you be willing to call it an epidemic? How about 50? Not enough? 500? Nope? What about 5,000? Would that make it an epidemic? Cause the number of
  2. Absolutely - not entirely out of the question. It's also not entirely out of the question that you'll find seven winning lottery tickets from 5 different nations in your mailbox wrapped in an original signed copy of the Constitution atop a Gutenberg Bible with a sticky note containing the coordinates of Jimmy Hoffa's remain. If you're not worried about HIV mutating into an airborne strain, you shouldn't be worrying too much about ebola doing the same. A hell of a lot more people have HIV, and nobody's worried about it going airborne - because it's so absurdly improbable.
  3. Killing "16 million people" - a gross underestimate - to "save 6 billion" - a gross overestimate - might be justifiable in the right context. However, the number of people killed would be much greater, and the total saved many fewer. Worst case scenario if this disease reached pandemic proportion, and a cure could not be developed - MAYBE 10 percent of the world's population would be lost. But hey, let's say it DID kill nearly all the world's population - at least you can rest easy knowing that North Korea would be safe and sound behind its borders, and Dear Leader would come forth to repopul

The worst-case scenario I see is a series of minor outbreaks that cause a fraction of a fraction of the damage (both social and economic) caused by people panicking. They've also been saying that Ebola is not an airborne disease. That is an outright LIE, it most certainly is airborne! Basically they're trying to convince people that Ebola is like HIV or Hepatitis, absolutely not true. What? The only way in which it is "airborne" is in the sense that infec
  5. That's no different than the last president. If anything, this one gets less international mockery.
  6. That'd be nice. Doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell, but here's to hoping anyway!
  7. I'm glad we know for certain. I wish the outcome were something else. My thoughts are with his family.
  8. Interesting, yet I would be arrested if I did not produce an ID if pulled over or stopped in the street... Voting is reserved for American citizen's, so tell me why is it that I HAVE TO PRODUCE AN ID when I go to vote? I suggest contacting your government !!!!!! This is an act of treason defrauding our voting system.... Uh... If you're arrested for failing to produce ID stopped on the street, you're being falsely arrested. No law requires you to carry ID. You are required to carry a driver's license while operating a motor vehicle. If you choose to leave your identification in the vehi
  9. Alright, no useful information yet. My acquaintance couldn't find anything for anyone with that last name. I contacted the office in Bo's county of residence that handles records including death certificates, and was told that it takes 4-6 weeks for those records to reach them. Since it's already been more than a week since the purported date, if there hasn't been any further information or contact in 4 weeks, I'll send that office a request form. They do not give out any information over the phone. If there is a reasonably tactful way to send a letter to his residence, that may be another way
  10. Pragmatically, truthfully - there is nothing that we can do that will successfully stop Ebola from getting into this country. Anything we try to do will be an ineffective feel-good measure. Instead we should focus on developing ways to combat Ebola, both its spread among our population and the effects on those it spreads to. It's effectively impossible to keep everybody out who will come to the US thinking they will be treated here - if it starts spreading in South/Central America, thousands of people WILL come to the US, no matter how hard we try to stop them. So, instead of focusing
  11. Well, it would be batshit crazy - killing millions of innocent men, women and children in a nation that does not even remotely present a military threat or hostile intent would not only be the most insane act of barbarity ever committed by man, an unequaled act of terrorism - it would also be ineffective. Ebola is already in South America among Liberian migrants. If it's already on its way here, it's already on its way here. If it starts spreading among the populations of South American and Central American countries - killing everyone who might potentially carry it in West Africa still isn't
  12. I personally think the difference between a $800 PSL and a $1600 PSL is that $800 PSLs exist.
  13. Factory Saiga high-caps are extremely rare and expensive - you won't really find them around.
  14. Received, thanks. I can't promise I'll uncover anything, but I'll do what I can.
  15. The best would be Russian factory hi-caps for Saiga rifles, as they have the BG built into the mag. Failing that, miscellaneous polymer surplus mags have a good reputation. Bulgarian, Russian, etc.
  16. If anybody has his real life info (full name and city of residence) and is willing to PM it to me, I can discretely look into local records through an acquaintance.
  17. Considered and rejected out of hand. Cody Wilson is entirely legit.
  18. Actually General there is and knowing you can't say it. I will Make us some glass please Spewing radioactive particles into the atmosphere to be carried all around the world, thereby igniting a nuclear war as every other nuclear-armed nation sees that the US has gone batshit crazy and needs to be put down probably isn't the best solution. Unilateral deployment of nuclear weapons is suicide. They are doing their job. They just don't have the correct job and aren't deployed well. I met a Border Patrol officer when I was working hotels. Apparently, simply drawing and pointing his fire
  19. Whatcha got for trade? I can probably scare up a spare upper handguard/gas tube cover. Do you need the retainer clip to go with it?
  20. But if people come over and want to use it I dont need a 07FFL. I didn't buy one but thats my understanding from some companies that do build your own 80% lower is they have people come in and pay to use their mills to complete them. The ATF has tried to crack down on that by issuing edicts to companies doing that - but there hasn't been a court case yet. They've just said "we consider that manufacturing and you need a license" etc. To the best of my knowledge nobody has been charged for doing so. Thats not the way I understand it The way I understand it, making a firearm for
  21. Shit. Didn't have a lot of interactions with the guy, but always got along just fine and he seemed like a decent human being. Still hoping wires got crossed somewhere.
  22. Very unlikely. 10mm was never widely adopted by law enforcement or the citizenry. .40 has been widely adopted by both. Production of both is very high - if anything, if LE demand for .40 winds down there should be a brief period of overproduction in which the price comes way down, a few years after which supply and demand should reach equilibrium again.
  23. What's the shipping like? FYI - Centerfire also has Russian FMJ at $199.99 - according to their chart, shipping to me is $22. Depending on where you are in relationship to each business, shipping costs could make either the best bet for you.
  24. It depends on how you chamber the round and whether you've done it before. If you chamber a round by pulling the charging handle back and releasing it, allowing the bolt to slam forward - the chance of a slam fire is minimal the first time. However, if you inspect the cartridge you will probably find a small dent in the primer due to the floating firing pin. One that primer is a little dented, it really isn't safe to chamber in that fashion a second time. If you gently close the action to chamber the round, there's never enough inertia for the firing pin to dent the primer, and you're fine. No
