not even one shot out of it / took it too far apart
Alpha Kilo replied to Alpha Kilo's topic in Saiga-12
Not much to report, but did manage to get some holes and grooves filled, now the bbl can be turned down and put the gas block where I want it and ported how I want it. (Wish I'd paid even more attention in Tromix class! I'll have to go do some searching before I try to reinvent the wheel. I'm forever grateful for the amount of knowledge that shop in particular shares with us. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what everyone shares, but they've been sharing alot of "trade secrets" with us for a while, and for a shop with such a reputation and big backlog, that speaks volumes. Anyway, sorry for th -
Here's to make up for my stupid selector marking thread. This is a good friend of mines big S12 project. Highlights are hinged AKS74U type top cover and stock and laminated wood, Galil left side safety and RPD folding charging handle. It's at a standstill now until his stamp comes in, then it's getting ~11"bbl

Ok, it's only photoshopped, but it would be kinda funny. I would like to fill these and do some cyrillic ones even though I think the ones in Russia are still S/F. Anyone know for sure?

If you analyze all of the information that Bob Ash and Tony Rumore share, you can come up with some real gems of information, this is a perfect example of something they mentioned almost in passing but a lot of people look right over it. Look at where the front of my dust cover goes into the RSB (rear sight block) I've welded a small shelf on there to prevent the situation you're having.

I just wish these POS Saigas would start showing up used and cheap cause they don't work, I'll buy them all!

Ah, I just read it how you wrote it, RPKS12, not RPKSS12! Neeeeeeevermind (btw, I like the water drain hole comment, lets run with it!!)

I'm gonna cut you some slack because it looks really good, but your title was misleading as an S at the end is supposed to be indicative of a folding stock, but it looks great anyway.

The proof is in the pudding, here's 3 at 100yds (eta they were off a bench, but not on a rest, just resting the mag on the bench, I'd like to see if it'd get any tighter in a real rest) I think I'd be comfortable ventilating a deer at 100yrds

Nope, they said they won't be coming with a brake either! Give me a break! lol

Mines always been fine, I did put a light bend in the locking piece just from common sense to give it more bite

not even one shot out of it / took it too far apart
Alpha Kilo replied to Alpha Kilo's topic in Saiga-12
True, and a shottie bbl doesn't look too out of place being naked, but on the other hand, an 12c type FH (I know I said MB before, but whatever) would allow for a shorter looking bbl. Maybe Dinzag's overgrown AK74 FH if they're still available.. -
$70!? Are they getting a flight over and hand delivering it?!? Depending on when this goes down, I may be interested in a group buy. I wonder how many they can fit in the $70 shipping box?

exactly, to be easily SBS'd at a later date (spend too much time behind enemy lines right now) only thing I'm not certain that I want to do is the MB. I'm open to suggestions. -

More like a MediumBarrelShotgun! I'm gonna move the gasblock back a couple inches and maybe do some krink poly HG's. I suppose it'll look something like a 107ur on steroids when it's done. Not quite positive yet, but it'll be something that looks pretty factory, no hokiness for me.. -
So I had this for 3yrs now and managed to not even cycle the action or move the safety, but last night I took it from a perfect unfired 109, down to this: Nothing like starting from scratch!

I went and found the video anyway, I def like your enthusiasm, but to show it off better, take some video outside in the daytime and it'll work wonders for your video. eta you should end all your videos like that! haha -

Not even a link to this video that has no live fire in it?! I'm trying to be as diplomatic as possible while still being straight forward when I say that you might wanna work on your marketing/promotional skills a little, because the majority of people aren't going to go on a long hunt to find a video, people like to click links and see stuff go bang. -
Which magazines for HD, and how do you store your S-12?
Alpha Kilo replied to JackKelly's topic in Saiga-12
Not to be a dick, but it sounds like your gun is borderline reliable. -
It's a weld that's hard to hide, I guess you COULD booger one up enough to grind it down and hope you get all the air holes out and then fill them with JB weld and paint over it, but I'd wait and have them TIG'd. A propper weld on a firearm looks good, a glob of metal painted over makes me wonder what's really underneath.
