  2. I am also interested. I've considered an ultimak........but always held off because of the heat coming off of the gas tube. I don't really want to subject my high dollar Trijicon Reflex II to that kind of abuse. And I certainly want to be able to get my ak's a little warm sometimes I've got a saiga 12 and an Arsenal SAM-7.......I think this is just what I've been looking for for both of them. keep us updated!!! Good work as always..... 49gmc
  3. Seriously.....chill the fuck out. 49gmc
  4. I got one of the least noticeable defects. Very, very slight low fill on one of the cylindrical protrusions onto which the feedlips clip. You know how the feed lips have a hole in them on either side.....this is the area that fits into that hole. Any way.....most places would have sold it as completely acceptable part....... if they had even noticed the defect. The fact that Mike sold it as defective shows that his quality standards are very high. I'm a QC Engineer at ALMS Championship Winning Racing team and if I do say so myself I have an eye for detail. It took me two days after r
  5. I'm also in the market for a couple AR uppers. I prefer a3 style.....only interested in quality names like Bushy,RRA, maybe dpms. 16-20 inch barrell. If anyone has something the op isn't interested in maybe I would be...... thanks 49gmc
  6. I'm a scratch & dent and a 2nd run customer. So.....I have one in my possession and one on the way soon. Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!! I am in no way affiliated with MikeD, other than being a very satisfied customer. Have fun out there, 49gmc

    New Toy

I doubt it's welded. I though he said it's a 24 incher.....sure looks long in the pics. Loctight is my guess. I little heat, wd-40 and the spanner wrench should do it. Not too hot though.... 49gmc
  8. The title says it all. I'm a customer who is very impressed.....both with the product and the customer service/good business practices. For anyone on the fence about whether to buy a drum.....go for it!!!!!!!!! 49gmc
  9. I plan to buy straight from the manufacturer when I'm able to afford one. http://www.poly-choke.com 49gmc
  10. Will: As far as "the mission" well........It will definitely be used as a close range deer gun. It will spend time being readily accessible in the home as well as having fun emptying md-20's at the range. So it's purposes are varied. I agree entirely that unnecessary baggage will become an annoying hindrance in the wrong situation. With that in mind.....I need to be on the lookout for a nice QD flashlight mount, as that will be mainly for it's Home Defense role. The vert grip I think will stay on all the time......but am not certain as this is my first venture in to vertical grips.
  11. Thanks for looking...... I definitely want a flashlight and vert. fore grip on my '109 so I need a railed grip. I think I want the SGM......but I have two issue to resolve before purchasing. I'm looking for input on these issue before committing to this option. First......It seems like the fact that the rails only cover the front half of the grip could disallow me from mounting my vert. grip as far back as I might like. The Aluminum options seem to come all the way back to the receiver.....allowing full user discretion in the placement of any accessory. So the question is....I guess
  12. Get a Savage......period. 10FP with McMillan Stock is hard to beat. Accu-trigger for sure. You will not be disappointed. 49gmc
  13. I've got a 10 FP LE-2B Accu-trigger.....with the McMillan A-3....the older version without the detachable mag like they sell now. 26 inch barrel , I love it. Got a Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14 on top. I've made hits on a C02 tank 8" in diameter and 3' tall at over 1300 yards in the Nevada desert. It'll shoot 1MOA all day at 500 yds with that Lithuanian Surplus that ammoman had last year. I've never handloaded for it yet but plan too soon. I've taken around twenty deer with it in the last two years....the longest one at 490 yds...what more can I say, It's one of my very favorite guns....a

  15. Did you get the Gen 2 forestock? I'm seeing the Gen 1 for $60 at Carolina Shooter Supply. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the difference is. They say that Gen 1 is "screw style attachments only" and is not compatible with QD style hardware. So..... I've been trying to decide whether to wait for the Gen 2 or just get the Gen 1. Thanks, 49GMC
  16. I just found these guys on the business members area and was wondering if they were superior to the Tapco. They look MIM, which if true is a bummer. I'd love to have a US option for a machined trigger (without the adjustment screws.....which to me are unnecessary and only serve as a possible failure point) but I digress....I just bought a G2 set......after much hemming and hawing because I try to stay away from MIM. I seem to remember reading of G2 hammers having lost an ear from time to time. If the consensus is that these Texas triggers are better than G2 than I could just save t
  17. Does anyone have any more input on this? I'm getting parts together and trying to decide between these two. My main concern is maintaining the rugged durability that we all love and expect from our AK style weapons. As an example.....I've read accounts of G2 hammers breaking.....so I ordered a double hook trigger to have a redundant system. I wish was there was a milled trigger group option available.....without adjustment screws which could loosen and cause a malfunction. What I'm getting at is that I want to choose the more heavy duty trigger guard. Specifically because with th
  18. I had to reread this about 4 times... I thought you meant that you shot two of your friends AND a deer! I was sitting here thinking, "Did the deer run past his 2 friends and he opened fire??!?" Haahaa.. I'm sorry for the ambiguous wording. John shot it first with the s12, then I shot it with the arsenal. IT was the first buck either of us had ever shot. No humans were injured in the event which is the subject of this story.
  19. The first round out of my '109 was a remington express 3" OO Buck shell which hit what ended up being both my buddies and my first buck with three out of the 15 pellets (15-20 yards). He shot it with my s12 and then it ran across the swamp/cattail area to my side and I hit it on the run twice with my milled arsenal sam-7 (5 rnd mag of course). And the libs say "assault weapons aren't good for anything sporting..WTF.... Their transparent evil plan sickens me. I really want a poly choke.....I was a little surprised that only 3 pellets connected. 49gmc
