  1. Well first let me thank everyone for their advice... I chose to go through with the deal because I hate to be jaded and think people are guilty until proven innocent. So I hung tight and the rifle is now sitting at my FFL dealer! The deal was too good, but it was true too!!! I was going to post the resolution with some pictures, but now the FFL dealer is confused how to sell a long-gun to an out of state resident, so it may be a while before I get to post my newest addition. And thanks A Southerner! You made for a very merry xmas!

  3. I couldn't agree more...but then I might not pay enough attention to the actual conversion being done. Tough call. I'd be interested in seeing how to do a full auto as well as a semi-auto. Needless to say, I wouldn't ever do the actual full-auto conversion, but mere information isn't illegal and is interesting.
  4. Manufacturing is really expensive too. Depending on what machine shop is used, what material is used, what equipment is used, and who does the design/install/testing, a simple thing like a mag-well will cost $200-500 PER prototype. If it doesn't work perfectly from the start, re-designs add up quickly! Once the design is finalized, production costs drop, but the time, money, and headache of perfecting the design is a huge step. So the question then becomes, what is a fair price to charge for a mag-well? You say $200 is a joke, but if it takes 5 proto-types to finalize the design
  5. I couldn't agree more. Plenty of manufacturers have managed to produce Kalishnakov variants successfully, but there's only one 12ga and it's darn unique/special. (I know, there's also the VEPR, butit will never cross into our nation's borders for civilian purchase so I'm not counting it). The S12 is definitely something to add to your collection!
  6. Still working on it... I was waiting for the 10rnders before I put too much effort into it just in case the magazine dimensions changed at all. But I should have the 10rnders by early next year and will finalize the details shortly after. JamShot is better at this than I am, but I'll figure it out soon: all I'm doing is riding his coat-tails of success and hoping for the best. I did finish up my design for a 3-chamber muzzle break with integrated poly-choke though. If anyone else wants to try to help tackle the mag-well project, feel free to hit me up to bounce some ideas ar
  7. Welcome David! You're in for some fun...be wary though, Saigas are about like potato chips: you can't have just one (or two, or three...). If you have any questions, just ask. The level of knowledge, and the helpfullness on this forum is remarkable. If one of these guys doesn't know your answer, then you've come up with a real stumper, but someone will be willing to help figure it out. Anyway, have a great one!
  8. Depends on if you want "close enough" or "really darn good." The dust covers will generally have a little bit of play in them. But you can make them fit tight enough that the play will be very minimal, and thus a dust-cover mount probably will get you "close enough." You won't be overlapping bullet holes, but AKs generally can't do that regardless. It's a 2moa gun, so with a slightly loose scope mount you'd be a tad bit worse than that, but I don't think it'd be unbearably bad. I'd suggest a Belarus Side-Rail Mount though. They are cheaper and take no modifications (which you may ha
  9. I ordered more than I need (6) so I could hit the bigger price break (10). I'll be dumping 4 extras, and I imagine others will do the same. So I'm sure there will be enough for everyone.
  10. Haha, that's insane. I'd lose my focus if I fell, you just make it look like shooting from your side is part of the plan.
  11. Hrm... I've not heard anything in a week...In fact, this guy hasn't even signed onto the forum in a week. Think this deal is too good to be true? I hate to cancel payment on my check, but basic communication with a buyer seems like a common course of dealings when selling items for a few hundred bucks. Any input from more experienced board members? Cancel payment? Or hang tight?

  13. ROFLMAO...a grenade launcher is equally as bad as a flash-hider. Wow, I'm proud of my government.
  14. Are you sure it's not the cup/wad? Any shot within ~15-25 yards will have two holes: one from the slug, and another from the cup. The closer the target, the more the holes will cowitness. Shoot out at about 35 yards and see what happens...I bet you'll see just one clean hole.
  15. AK-74 brake is already in the works. I can't wait!!! This is going to be a fun xmas! Speaking of that, does anyone have a tat and die I could rent? Thanks!
  16. Hell yea. The all steel 10mm I hear is a dream for home defense. Heavy enough to fight the recoil.
  17. I wish I could afford yours BR3. Your's are much nicer, but I just can't drop that kind of money. It's tough to maintain a gun addiction while in school. Thank you though, maybe someday.
  18. What'd you do with the old stock? That pretty skeleton wood one that I bet would look great on a Saiga 7.62x39 that should be coming in the mail soon... If it's just laying around, think I might could convince you to part with it?
  19. ROFLMAO. Now that's just plain mean...but funny as hell.
  20. I didn't realize that was a joint. I always wondered why it was threaded, but every time I've tried unscrewing it, it didn't budge, so I gave up. Thanks J!
  21. Thanks guys! I'm sooooo excited!!!
  22. Haha, thanks! For me, my collection is now complete! I got my S12, S20, AR for .223, and I'll get a PTR-91 or FAL for my .308. Now I just gotta figure out what to do with it...Xmas is gonna be a blast!!!
  23. I promised myself that if ever I got a true AK (7.62x39) I'd keep it traditional and deck it out with wood. Ideally, I want to do a skeleton wood stock. Does anyone know where to get one? And if I do, and it's foreign, how the heck am I gonna meet 922 compliance? Thanks for any help you can offer!!!
