      I don't have to even pay the fine. The cheapest insurance listed in my state is over 8% of my income, thus I'm too poor to fine.

      At least that is what I read.

      I used an online calculator out of curiosity. I would have to pay $6850 more than my mortgage and taxes combined for less insurance than I have now.
