I was up last night flipping channels and came across a show called The Colony. It's pretty much a post apocalyptic show. There are several people living together in an abandoned city as if the world were over. You watch how they pool their resources together to survive and/or overcome groups of rebels who attack them. It's not a show I'd TIVO and watch religiously, but it's pretty cool, I'll watch on occasion. I guess the unrealistic part is that no one on the show has guns OR ammo. Seeing as how I only own and have only ever shot shotguns, my opinion is bias towards them. My husband bought me a Mossberg to start off, which I love, I have two of them now. We also (or HE rather) has two Saigas that are sweet, although the kick back hurts (I'm a delicate flower, what can I say ) And we also have an Eqyptian AK. I've never shot a rifle, but in my head (this is just purely my opinion) I equate rifle shooting to hunting, and I am NO hunter. I prefer the look of a scary tactical Saiga, AK what have you to the look of a hunting rifle. I know, not ALL rifles are for hunting

LOL, that's funny! We have a giant locking box for ours. There is no way any one man could steal it, he'd need several helpers. I can barely lift the lid on the thing. It's a monster.

I supposse thats a good point. If no one is home. Whenever I think about home invasion, I always think of it in terms of us being at home in the middle of the night or something. But I guess that's not always the case.

Is that legal? My husband always says that if he had to use a gun in our home, we'd use something other then the Saigas and the AK because he wouldn't want the police to take those for fear of never seeing them again. But what the hells the point if they can take ALL your guns?

None of them! Forget the cars. Buy a Ducati. Or else buy a clunker! I totaled my first car twice (an OLD Buick)... then trashed it when it couldn't be salvaged anymore. Look, buy your auqa blue Camaro... drive it youeself, and tell her she can move up from the peice of crap clunker car to the Camaro when if she can keep a clean driving record for a year. That way you can drive it for a year! Athough I still vote for aa Ducati instead...

Great photos! That looked like a kick ass day! I have to ask as I've only shot in an indoor range, but is it as loud outside? I notice most were wearing ear plugs. It doesn't seem like it would be as bad outside... although I guess with alot of people in one area shooting Saigas all day would get pretty loud. In the range, our Saigas are ear peircing, I can feel my teeth vibrate!! Whenever my husband shoots his, people stop and watch him, then inquire about it. I would LOVE to go do some shooting outside with other seasoned shooters for a day.

I just created an account on here today, so i guess I'll bite! My name seems pretty self explanitory (to me anyway), I'm the wife of someone on this board and I like (most) things tactical. We have 5 shotguns, two of which are Saigas...

That is a little discusting... and alot hilarious! Unforunetely where I live I am limited to shooting paper targets at a range. While that's just fine for the time being, seeing as how I'm only had my guns a few months. I know that will will get bored with that and want to go out and shoot actual objects (like giant buckets of water...) I live in a wooded area and I joke with my husband about securing targets to the trees outside our bedroom window... I'm sure the dog park across the woods would appreciate that as well

Well whatever the security threat level, DON'T let them check that back left pocket! Just keep your hands out where they can see them and dont make eye contact... you'll be JUST fine.
