  2. Don't you guys ever use your FAL!? ...And now, for some reason, I have urgent need for shortening and polishing my (another) FAL. Pictured one will remain in "rat"-class. -JumiKuula aka JamShot
  3. Found this by accident while doing a search and I couldn't help myself to resurrect this for new members. JumiKuula is JamShot when translated, and I've revealed it before but here goes again: I started IPSC with P19 Tanfoglio and that piece of junk made constantly all the failures you can come up with. So, jamming pistol --> JamShot. It followed me as pistol kept jamming but nowadays hardly anyone recalls because jams are gone, thanks to Glock. -JumiKuula aka JamShot
  4. Error! Docter doesn't last too well. I have 3 Docters. One on S12 (fixed once after 150 rounds), another on IPSC modified CZ SP-01 (fixed twice within 600rounds) and third on Remington 1100 (blinking three times within 1000rounds). And all of those are indestructible Docter 2+. Plus they fail you down on competitions! It's rather easy to fix though... Just solder the mass free cable back and use something to clue/jam the cable from moving during recoil. Put OKO on that list. On pistol, on rifle, on carbine it just keeps on going. -JumiKuula aka JamShot
  5. Or unmodied S-12. PJ + 10 shots = 1.1s. Average splits 0.11s --> Faster than best split (Shot #9 0.121). CED 8000 used for timing. Anyway Winchester can't be faster than Browning Gold nor Browning A-5. Winchester is a copy of Gold but fresh shell doesn't start moving back with the bolt like in Brownings. But we've seen these advertisements before with Benelli, Beretta and even with Remington 870! PJ and Saiga -JumiKuula aka JamShot
  6. What do you lose by cutting the piston? It is way easier to replace than gas block. We had a gas piston adjustment done in a Krink-copy by turning it in little by little. Soon we had to cut some threads from the piston because it made spring tunnel too short. But by shortening the piston we found a nice smooth cycling without "original violent kick". Shortening the piston also cuts the time gas pushes the piston. It blows more stuff into mechanism though. Sorry for a bad pic. Flash hider is added only to protect the muzzle. It is not for adding length. Venting the gas pipe wo
  7. So why don't you shorten the piston? It will do the the same as adjustable gas block. -JumiKuula aka JamShot

  10. This little girl in pics used Saiga in one week-match and complained mostly about difficulty of mag inserting and nose heavy balance. Nose heavy gun made her to lean back and made the stance unnatural. Recoil wasn't raised to be an issue as with Browning A-5. Browning Gold however was lighter and as tame as Saiga. BTW, Saiga had buffer and was fed with 28g slugs and birdshots. Oh, and being lefty Saiga blew some smoke on her face. ...She didn't like that feature much. Wei with Gold Wei again Me with heavy Saiga -JumiKuula aka JamShot EDIT: Darn! "Share photos..." L
  11. There were one proto version before G41 and G43 that had the gas-trap at the end of a muzzle. It didn't get too far since operating rods were too long and started bending. If I recall right it was equally as long as Mauser 98 and had the collecting cone at the end. Bang system was adopted after this failure. Krinkov like cap might do as well as MG42 or Maxim booster. -JumiKuula aka JamShot
  12. Not impossible idea. ...But plastic in gas chamber doesn't appel to me. I would make a gas collecting collar around muzzle. Germans had one semiauto rifle at the end of WW2 (Mauser, Sauer?) that collected gas pressure after barrel and used ring piston to operate mechanism. Now short stroke ring piston might also work here. Starts to remind Safir 410. It also used ring piston over barrel, with gas holes though. But then again, AK needs both rails and piston to keep slide straigh. We did cut down one Saiga M3 to shorter than Krinkov and were able to keep piston quided even without gas tub
  13. Apparently you have that long barrels that short cycling isn't issue. Those I have seen were shorter barrel versions. And porting that far back (like in your competition version) wouldn't do in these Molots which seem to require 36g minimum load to cycle barely. Shell stovepipes won't always go away with just loose spring. Harder grip does help more often. And sorry for not being clear. I ment +2 pads, not mags, that can't handle collisions with hard surface. We shattered 2 pads made out of POM-plastic. ...Still I can't figure out one thing. Why are you using 15 round mags? You have pads
