  1. Dont mean to hijack the thread here, but: Bought my first Circle 10's the other day, tried all 3 in my rifle. every one wobbles side to side, and back and forth, way more than any other mag I own. Yugo and Chinese metal ones, Tapco plastic ones, Palm 30, all. The circle 10's are the loosest by far. Not bad enough to not use them, but way more loose fitting than I expected from the quality everyone speaks of with these. maybe Arsenal quality control has gone down? I dont know. I havent got to shoot them yet, only load em up and try em in the gun... And you're right about the forum havin
  2. Yes, look through the Dinzag site THOUROUGHLY, and you will see all you need to know about Bullet guides...
  3. Saiga rifles take AK parts very easily with minor mods that literally take minutes...for the standard AK mags, or 1-2 hours, to move the entire FCG back to original AK location. Nothing is hard, they only moved a few things around to import them easier. Dont believe what you hear without looking it up here on Saiga Forum..
  4. see the lil rounded bump on the front of the stock mag hitting your bullet guide? You need to remove that, take a file or a dremel, and take that down about 1/2 inch or so to get it out of the way. There is a thread about that somewhere in this forum, with diagrams and everything...then, you can use the modified saiga mags, AND any aftermarket or Mil-spec AK mag out there. You will not have to modify the mil mags in any way, but the built-in bullet guide on the stock mags, (that bump) gets in the way once you install a bullet guide.
  5. AFTER conversion: handles so much better now, better trigger pull, better balance, and of course the "AK cool factor"...
  6. #3: I'm tall and have long arms. does the fact that the grip is further back on the T6 stock make any difference in pull length, or was this accounted for in the design. the stock seems a little short in the pictures I've seen, but it is adjustable. that being said, the AK stock also looks pretty tiny. has anyone used both? #4 does anyone have any suggestions on how to make my planned conversion better functioning? #5 should I just do the work and convert it to the traditional AK look, or does it seem like I actually have a good idea for a first timer? please help me decide, guys! Th
  7. For a Saiga or AK, I use the PRK Arms AK maglock. $45 delivered, strong, locks up well, and a LEO can not get the mag out without a 'tool" heres a pic of one on someone elses gun...(from the PRK site)
  8. Very few folks endorse the shepards crook, (bent piece of wire) after using the retaining plate, (solid steel plate) to hold in your axis pins....Get the plate, and you'll be thankful later...
  9. yeah, on my days off I'll remove it and try again. It seems as if the leaf is not putting any pressure upward on the sight at all. The sight posts can move up and down in the holes freely, and the whole thing will just flop forward and back. The weird thing is, it seems as if the leaf is in the exact place it was with the stock sight, and looking at the bottom of both sight, they look the same on the bottom of that area.... In the CSS video, the sight came right off with the ruler, mine took a hard whack with a wrapped screwdriver, and was REALLY in there. AS for putting the new one in, it
  10. Thanks, just the answer I ws hoping for...I'll take it apart again...Do you have any better way of getting that sight back in? It seems like I will need a drill press or a gorilla, neither of which are handy right now...or just whack it carefully at the angle again?
  11. I recently bought a RPK 1000m rear sight to replace the stock Saiga 300 m one on my ifle. Getting the stock one off was easy enough, just a tap with a flat screwdriver thru a rag at the front of it in the groove, and it popped right off. The problem was putting the new RPK sight on. I looked at numerous you tube videos and read numerous sites, and since i didnt have a drill press, which seems to be the best way to get another one back on, used another method, put a rag on it, held it at a 40% angle to line up the grooves and the 2 small pegs, and gave it a good tap with a rubber mallet. i
  12. As far as I know, the modified group will not work in a stock Saiga , unconverted due to the 'wishbone' linkage being in the way. Why not do a full trigger forward conversion? Only takes about an hour, keeps your rifle cali-legal, and improves trigger pull, balance, and accuracy of the gun.

  14. Sent you a PM. OK,thought I couldn't. Try aa-ok. I didn't have good luck there, so went with Copes. I tried AA-OK at first, found out theirs are high-end Airsoft sights...so I went with Copes as well.
  15. and here's an internal reciever block that might work for these to put a folder on them... http://riflestocks.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=302&osCsid=2cd7f6ddc7da03c2b922d2502160eeb1
  16. Just grind about the thickness of the BHO plate. And only on that side, yes. The idea is to make room for the thickness of the BHO plate, thats all... I bought mine already modified from Dinzag for about $5 more, he also polishes up all the ares that need it. Its like getting a trigger job for free..
  17. Which dealers? Link? CSS and Mach 1 Arsenal both have these in now.... The kicker is the receiver has a slant cut on the rear lower which makes putting on a regular stock near impossible and if you want to use higher capacity magazines legally in the USA that is you still need to extract enough foreign parts. Who ever got locked up for not having enough foreign parts? If you want to use higher cap magazines, you just use surefire ones and nobody will give you crap about it. Arent these just like the old VEPR recievers? Someone made stocks to fit those.
  18. my March 09 has a no step chamber AND threads, as well as dimples, handguard notches, etc. So, the previous poster is right, random luck....
  19. You know you can post the name of the company, just not a direct link. Copes has these in stock, but they're 1000m east german ones for RPKs... What is the company? i've been looking, too...
  20. finished except for FH install....and thats done now, too...looking good... Thanks, all for the help during the install, I couldnt figure out that just tying the ends back puts enough tension on the spring. It looked like the CSS video was putting one whole additional rotation on the hammer spring, and believe me, if you do that, it's under a hellacious amount of tension...
  21. I was lucky enough to get a threaded barrel. Don't know ANY way to make completely sure, but it SEEMS like the threaded ones have a bit more room around the tip of the barrel and the shroud. Take a really bright flashlight and a playing card with you, see if you can slide the card in between the shroud and outside of the barrel, and try to look in between, you might see threads starting. The ones that are very tight there, and you cant get a card in there, probably dont have threads, (but no guarantees on anything with Saigas!)... Good luck hunting for one, hope you find it..
  22. Since a few dealers are getting these in now, just wondering if anyone has a M series 7.62 yet? How do you like it? I like the fact it was imported already 'converted" (actually made in the right configuration to start with)...
