  1. Very nice build. Greg at CSS is a super guy to deal with. With the stock all the way in, what is the measurement from the back of the receiver to the back of the stock ?
  2. A lot of people are asking how I did my Handguard. I will try to explain the best I can. Grab your Dremel cut out the two side panels from the Handguard. Then start sanding the inside of the Handguard with the Sanding Wheel, you will need to sand off quite a bit of the plastic on the inside of the Handguard to make space of the Metal Grill you put in. I took off a lot of Plastic from mine because I wanted the Handguard to slide over the Barrel without scratching the finish once I secured the Grill into the Handguard. To get the Grill to curve to the shape of the Gas Tube, you will need
  3. As long as that front sight houseing uses an AR style sight post, you should put an XS sight BIG DOT sight post in to replace the factory one. HUGE and WHITE and GREAT for quick target acquisition. Even better with a shorty like urs. Plus the tritium in it is bright as shit and is great for low light or even no light shooting (not that you'd want to...just sayin) Definately going to put in a Tritium sight. Thats a must have for a Tactical Gun.
  4. Marble Arms Ghost Sights will work, pic below. I think a vendor here carries these, cant remember who. Or just make your own Ghost Sight, there are many different size Washers out there to choose from.
  5. Where is the pic? dragunov sniper Rifle?

  6. Its definately too high for the factory rear at the moment. I am thinking of putting on one of those big Bullseye Ghost ring where the factory sight is. Or I might not use a rear at all, put the front sight on target and let her rip.
  7. Ok, here is a pic of what it suppose to look like once its together.
  8. I used my Dremel to grind out the threads inside the thread protector, this way it will slide all the way back to the Gas Block. I then drilled a hole on the bottom so I can weld a nut over the hole which a set screw will be used to secure the unit. It just my way of copying the aftermarket bolt on AK sights out there. I am too cheap to pay for a Krebs, (so I made a Jebs) . This sight will fill that little gap you see in front of my Gasblock, it realy completes the front section of my Gun. I still have to rethread the tip of my Barrel and put the protector back on.
  9. I made this for my 12 inch S12. Just finished cutting and grinding, now to get it welded. I used the front Sight from my Saiga Rifle, a extra S12 Barrel Thread Protector, and a little Elbow Grease. I am going to secure it to the Barrel with a set screw. The Gasblock was moved back, so this Front sight will fill that empty space in front of the Gasblock. To adjust the gas setting I am going to drill a hole in the Gas Plug this way I can still turn the Plug without removing the Frontsight.
  10. Boba, move to Florida. Its a free State.
  11. Thanks for the info. I am going to measure my Tula Stock and see if its the same length.
  12. Sunny you came up short alright GREAT COLLECTION! Question about the stock on your 12 inch, what is the length from the back of the Reciver to the Back of Stock ? I am waiting for a custom Receiver for my Tula AKS 74U, its almost done, cant wait. DR1553 is doing it for me.
  13. You could do this, just find some Metal Grill pattern you like, and start hammering and cutting.
  14. That "Raging Judge" is a freaking CANNON!
  15. Did you ask the dude any questions about it? Same type of questions you asked. I told him I did a 12 inch and had the block moved back, and he looked at me strange like I was speaking a different language.
  16. Nice Shirts. I also was looking at that SBS S12.
  17. Antonio's was better. Could have done one exactly like Antonios, but too bulky and heavy. You havent seen my Golf Bag as yet!
  18. This is my Concealed carry Case. I am almost finished with the insert for my 11.5 AR. Once I am done with that one I am going to do a insert for my S12 12 inch. So depending on what the mission calls for, I can swap out the inner case to accomidate the weapon I am carrying.I used a real Guitar Neck, this way if someone unzips the top of the case WALLA! there is a Guitar in there at least the neck, if they see more than the neck, they have seen too much something serious is going to happen. You wont see all the sponge, I am going to cover it with Black Velvet type material. These pics are
  19. Great thread! You dont know how many times I have heard people even Police Officers blabbing these NFA myths.
  20. Why the aluminum oxide? Does this help strip and degrease? Blasting the Gun with Aluminum oxide strips the old finish off while pitting the surface of the Gun for the Duracoat to stick. After you Blast it, spray it down with degreaser. Prepping is so important.
  21. I used Duracoat Tac Black and OD Green on my SBS. Make sure you aluminum oxide everything you will be spraying.
  22. Any Instructor here actualy sat their family down and gave the Safety course Book and all? I plan on doing this. All these years as an Instructor, and I have never sat my family down to teach them formaly. All four of my kids are very safety concious around weapons from what I tell them, and how I handle my Guns around them. I have played the Eddie Eagle Video a few hundred times for them growing up.
  23. I chopped my SBS to 12 inches with a Abrasive wheel on a 14 inch Chopsaw. I used the Laser, a level, and a square rule to align the the Barrel before cutting. The Abrasive wheel cuts through the Russian Steel like it was Butter, I just gently let the Blade go through.
  24. Its a good thing if you can find a experienced S12 smith that will work with you. Who has a thousand dollars to dump in Gun mods all at one time especially right now the way the economy is.
