  1. an intellectual is someone who can hear the William Tell Overture and doesn't think of the Lone Ranger
  2. I shoot my 24 better overall than my 19 but the size makes it less multi use friendly, pretty much just a Saturday go to the match gun. the 19 will shoot matches too including IDPA that the 24 won't fit the box. I've had a 17L, a 24, and a 34 in the long slide Glocks I'd go with getting a 24 or whatever Glock in 40 cal and get an aftermarket barrel to shoot 9s and if you've got the wants or needs another barrel for 357 sigs
  3. story is in the future there will be a computer, a dog, and a pilot in the cockpit. the computer flies the plane. the dog guards the computer. and the pilot feeds the dog. if every time some pilot is a depressed asshole or religious nut decides to kill himself and take everyone on the plane with them better start training some damn big dogs soon.
  4. Hi Power in a steel gun Glock 19 overall, yeah I know you didn't ask but it had to be said.
  5. sadly for our people in harms way at this point in time you'd need an 18 wheeler or 2 to haul the power source
  6. any time you deal with the police YMMV I try to limit my interactions with the police as most of us do 99.9% of the time every thing was fine even if I got a ticket 0.1% of the time I've had to deal with some asshole with a badge, but even then in the end it ended with no big deal, just a little time taken up talking to an asshole. I will admit I am more than worried about the number of police shooting with what seems to be a subdued suspect, those I tend to believe to be the actions of a major dumbass with a badge and a gun that shouldn't have ever been given a job as a cop or even a
  7. there will be a pile of them before it's over, he's just the 1st to jump. while I'm not happy about it I strongly suspect Hillary will win unless the 2nd coming of Christ happens 1st.
  8. call Andy. Barney shouldn't be telling people how to handle a gun.
  9. to hell with the topic, if you don't like Glocks don't buy one that said now this is important, Gaddis you know good and damn well anyone who hops on that scooter with that girl is going on a one way trip, yeah you didn't have to walk but you can never go back. hopping on that scooter was the same as getting in the boat with the boatman at the river Styx, in the eyes of the world you're a dead man.
  10. this was a pile of hurt waiting to happen http://www.warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=52966
  11. I've got a lot of bulges to cover a little extra thickness. just about getting to the point where in winter I could carry my 44 Redhawk, my speedo body has sped away.
  12. I like Glocks and have had a pile of them and still have some now, but I wouldn’t get one as a single stack to me that defeats about 75% of the reason for getting a Glock. So for me this new one is a non starter from the get go. With Glocks it’s often said there are 3 things wrong: 1st the trigger 2nd the sights 3rd the trigger and now the part about shoot lead they blow up. Depending on what you want to do with the gun the trigger can be improved with a couple of cheap and easy to do changes, connector and striker spring usually take care of most of the problem but more can be
  13. picked up a 26 for my son to use as his CCW, (plus to get my 19 back from him) it's about the same size and will take all the mags.
  14. some people don't understand good things can come from all areas on earth and most religions you just have to look. I use one of these all the time but would really like to try the other one at least once.
  15. I’m not 100% pro much on anywhere other than America, and even then while I love my country I don’t always agree with the elected officials choices. Kind of like the old sayings of my country right or wrong, my mother drunk or sober. Being and having allies in the world can be a double edged sword, damned if you do and damned if you don’t. No ally should get a blanket pass for their actions, because sometimes just as we are they’re wrong. To me we spend way too much time focused on too few things as a nation, one of my fears for my grandchildren is at some point some of today’s actions and
  16. it's not over, but it's going to take a fight, and calling our representatives and getting them to fight it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib43Lfdivdw
  17. Yeah when these guns came out I was pretty much already into Glocks and ARs so I wasn't going to change pistols for a carbine that I really had no use to tie it to. I was shooting matches pretty regular and I knew they weren't going to let me shoot for score with a 9mm instead of a .223. There were a few gunsmiths that I heard could convert one or the other to work with Glock mags but it cost more than a new gun to have it done. I'd have never gotten the Mech Tech CCU it not for the stainless frame for the 24, I hated having an unused frame sitting around. I forget what I paid at the time but
  18. "Horrible housefire at the Clintons!"meaning she survived, oh shit, that means she'll be the next president. One nation under God, with the stupidest voters on the face of the earth.
  19. I know at one point both Marlin and Ruger put out some carbines in 9mm that used pistol mags but they didn't stay on the market long. Guess for mass marketing it's not an idea who's time has come or wasn't then anyway.
  20. while not a perfect carbine the Mech Techs are pretty damn good, as shown in the video it will rattle off a big stick of ammo and no beer can is safe from puncture wounds. I run my cheap cast lead reloads in mine and it eats them like candy with no problems. to me the cost of the base unit is more than reasonable for the way it works and it would have cost me more for a Glock or aftermarket pistol upper than I paid for the CCU. as far as practical to me it's my "22 rifle" and while not my go to gun for home defense it's far from the last thing I'd grab. With the stock set up on mine it's the
  21. Mech Tech sells several stocks / attachments for the units and I know 1 of them is a M4 set up. I wanted more drop in the comb / butt so I cut and bent the cheapo original down and shortened it some to what felt good for me with a red dot on it. Still have some work to do on it. on that stainless frame I really like it for shooting matches, it gave a much better trigger pull than the polymer and the weight pretty much ate all the recoil. It was too heavy to me for a carry gun even with a G17 or G22 upper. They stopped making them and the other danger was if anything broke it was pretty muc
