Ya it's just bad luck. Surefire is the best fir the saiga's.

Been shooting 5.56 out of mine and it has been doing fine. I bet they just marked it as .223 because it would be harder to import it if they marked otherwise.

I know this is a old post, but I would have jumped on that right away. In the local gun shows I been seeing. The sporter version of the saiga .223 cost $350.

I personally like the tapco intrafuse. After popping 100 rounds in 2 min. Almost no heat on the hand guard. The hand guard is also rock solid on the gun. The best part is they are about 40 bucks and they also count as a u.s compliance part.
